It is statistically likely that several of you share Rain or Tallheart's birthday. It's also statistically likely that someone's birthday is today. Happy Birthday!

My birthday is tomorrow, and I was looking forward to this chapter with my birthday in mind, and you just happen to mention that on the post like 🤯 The coincidence is wild

?! Dozer producing Grantel now, Holy

Wonder if Dozer is Silver? Could be with all the time in Rain’s soul but then author would be deprived of skipping Dozer’s silver class/race choice. Not like Grantel only drops from silver as I think I recall it dropping from higher bronze too.

I haven’t commented since about 175, but “you love it when numbers go up” absolutely did it for me. Nice!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

So Rain's blind without Mana Sight, and Ameliah's worse than blind without Detection.

Random Information

"Rain forcibly suppressed the dialog—something that was quite difficult, as he’d just finished designing it to be unsuppressible." That was the funniest bit of the chapter when I re-read it. Rain's probably going to bring up birthdays again in 100 chapters time, after having forgotten again.

If Ameliah reshuffles her Skills and learns Aura Anchor, Rain can carry one around his neck, so they can always share Skills. Actually, she could give an Anchor necklace to several Skill donors, picking the ones she needs at the moment.

So what gives the lift capacity? Do they make hydrogen serve double duty as fuel and lift? Or do they use hot air? Helium? I imagine it's possible to make a variable-weight enchantment, so they can stay on the ground with empty cargo space. That's otherwise one of the hard parts with airships. They need an Illuminator to make a camouflage enchantment for the Inconceivable. I guess currently if it's beneath a tree canopy, it just looks like a lake, because it reflects the sky, but still... Ideally they'd have several configurations: a copse of trees, a big rock, a cloud, and something awe-inspiring like a giant fireball, for when they want to make an impression. I think the Mk II could be a flying city, Castle-Wulfenbach-style. Just pack in all of Ascension, and they could change their base location every month. They could make a fortune just by trading. The rank lowers as you go up, too, so they could anchor in a high-rank area, and a few hundred meters up it'd still be rank zero...

This is an amazing chapter, so many little and funny interactions that make it great !!

Anybody else pissed that Rain got to escape covid?

Nope. He is after all a fictional character. I wouldn't have pinned down a particular date myself if I were the author, in case some cool technology came along that Rain could take inspiration from.

Random Information

The number of people you need to have ~50% chance of at least one person having a birthday today is about 252. Which (suspiciously) is the chapter number.

Zarik0

Well would be funny in the future when Ascension appear in some place where people are living with a entire flight of helicoptor or other airships as their thransport they use, really Ascension name :P

Karthic

Is there a wiki that can refresh me on some of the soul dynamics? I’ve been following for years and at one chapter a week sometimes my memory gets a bit soft on how everything works.

They gotta build an aircraft carrier next. Then Ascension can really start projecting its power lol

Zoe

Well today is my sister’s birthday, so I guess that counts for something

Cirvante

Now that they are starting to use Unity, there's a lot of things they can potentially do. Combining Earth Manipulation and Water Manipulation is just the first step. They have a Cold Mage, a couple Fire Mages, two Nature Mages, an Air Mage and an Arcane Mage. Add in Val and everyone can work under Transparency. They could excavate tunnels into the depths in search for a ranked biome with untouched lairs. And that's not even touching on what their crafters can accomplish together. Rain can grab Tarny and use Spring and Fall with his own metamagics. They could capture some of those regenerating swamp hog monsters, cut some meat off and then blast them with Summer for a near-limitless source of protein for Ascension.

theblackhawk22

Did Rain ever remember to ask for the birthday in the end?

Hm. So, is Clubbs really bad at training Squid Kata, did he only just get it, or did the zero in '10' get misplaced? #BugReport

Or maybe Ameliah had all those Skills already maxed except for Squid Kata?

Guys i found pitter patter! Neytirix did a vid two years ago (stealing ocs dec 4) and at 1050 there's pitter patter cuteness has been found

Maya

just had a thought about how lv >10 IFF interacts with Unity, and if it'd allow one to reduce the level of someone's skills if both they and the Unity group have access to it
