So again, I like the broken up panels, but then the last panel looks a bit weird when John has no text but his mouth is open. Obviously don't draw an extra mouth, but still

Yeah, it was an idea. It's not as successful... But it reads better vertical scroll fashion than the overlapping balloons in panel by panel, but the visual is a little off
