V1.1 was about contact. V1.2 leans into intelligence — how the ball moves between players, and how a team thinks with and without it. Biggest tuning pass yet, shaped almost entirely by your feedback.
Before you load in — this changes how you play. Contact cuts both ways in 1.2. The CPU is readier to lean on you, get tight and make the ball hard to keep, and a pass or shot you rush under that pressure is more likely to come out loose. Keeping the ball is a skill now — shield it with your body, put your frame between the defender and the ball, and take the extra beat instead of forcing it. Play out of the pressure, don't panic through it.
Passing that respects who's on the ballThe top complaint was fair: everyone passed like prime Xavi, a 70-rated side about as clean as Real Madrid. That should feel different now:
Accuracy leans on the player again, so weaker sides are more prone to misplace a pass
Pressure can break a pass, so forcing it under a press carries more risk
Interceptions come into play more, defenders readier to step into a lane and read it
Pass speed re-balanced to feel weighted without turning sluggish
Through balls + a defence that holds shape
Tighter zonal marking, more compact centre, options harder to find
CPU less likely to force a bad through ball from a poor position
Marking near the receiver readier to kick in
A CPU that leans toward defending like a team (biggest piece of the update)
Readier to contain you, use its body, hold off diving in
Less reckless pressing in its own half
Reads feints a little better, beaten by tricks less
More shape discipline: smarter cover, more selective double-teams, more disciplined fullbacks
Note: a few teams still gegenpress high on purpose — that's their identity, kept
A CPU that attacks with more purpose
Less pointless stepover spam in open space; stars still pull the odd move
Fewer wild turn-and-shoots from distance
More purpose in dribbling into space
...and it's readier to shield the ball and hold it up under contact, so winning it back takes a real challenge, not a nudge.
Keepers & goals rebalanced
Less sticky catching, more room for parries and rebounds (real saves kept)
Keeper rating carries more weight — strong keepers strong, low-rated more beatable
Shots vary more, less likely to find the same perfect corner; finesse kept its bite
More
Crosses: a bit more curve and pace, CPU more willing to cross into a packed box, early crosses easier to trigger — go in and see how they land
Aerials: good timing has a better chance against brute size (no header goal-fest)
Collisions: hard contact more likely to end in a real fall
Weather: the rain/snow first-touch balloon and ice-rink snow should be gone, grounded feel carries into bad weather now
Add-ons: Speed family is Motion (Light) + Motion+. Fouls Looser/Stricter unchanged. Run base + one option per family together.
