I've spent the last while building a desktop app for making comics, and it's finally done. Before I talk about the app itself, here are two demos you can just... open.

Both files are attached to this post. Download either one and double-click it — it opens in your browser like a webpage. No install, no unzipping, no internet needed once you've got the file. They work on your phone too: download, tap, done.

Interactive Comic Demo — a branching comic. Click the choices on the page and the story goes different places. Four pages, two paths, one ending they both meet at.

Scrolling Comic Demo — a vertical scrolling comic, webtoon style. Just scroll. Audio and video are tied to how far down the page you are, so things fire as you reach them. Turn your sound on for this one.

Both demos are SFW, so share them wherever you like.

That's the whole point of the app, really: whatever you make comes out as one single file that anybody can open on anything. No hosting it somewhere, no platform's rules to follow, no app store. You just send someone a file.

The art and speech bubbles in the demos are mine. The app itself doesn't come with any — you bring your own.

If you want to make these yourself, the app is up in my shop here: Windows only. $29, and $19 for the first five people.
