Chapter 22: The Valentine Masquerade Ball - Part One

In an empty classroom not far from the Great Hall, Daphne was adjusting the high lace collar of her gown, studying her reflection in the mirror.

The glamour held firm. Her long, wavy black hair had been transformed into a copper mane that hung down her back, sleek and glossy, just as Ginny Weasley often wore hers. Beneath the change in hair, a secondary glamour had turned her cool blue eyes into a vibrant, warm brown. Across her face rested a delicate domino mask, crafted from midnight-blue lace that was meticulously patterned to match the intricate weave along her neckline.

Looking down at the high, suffocating neckline and the rich fabric draping all the way to her ankles, Daphne felt a quick flash of relief. Both she and the Weasley girl were blessed with figures that drew eyes the moment they entered a room, and neither was shy when it came to showing off a bit of skin when the mood struck, and a Valentine Masquerade Ball certainly qualified.
