Man I couldn’t stop crying when i watched it, great job Toei did, this is what I was expecting when I read the manga, i thought as a parent, how tough is to not be able to see ur kids that r not even urs, but u love them as if they’re urs, but u do everything for ur kids, sacrifice everything for them, and then started thinking as a son, ur not be able to see ur dad while growing up anymore, how sad it’d be this situation irl, man imo Kuma is the best written character on One Piece, what a flashback, the saddest one but also the best one

Yeah I knew this ep was gonna hurt, cried at the chapter in the manga and same for the anime. Don't worry Oda always gives something for the pain, just need to wait for it. also it makes sense why Kuma even after Bonny became a pirate didn't try to see her, since with how bad Saturn is he could have just sent a Admiral after her to punish him. Oh and remember Bonny is only 12 as she looks at all of her Dad's memories so that is a lot for a kid

A wonderful and emotional episode, but it's time to return to real events. To sum up the backstory — truly epic. TOEI also showed that they are still capable of producing beautiful animation without the exaggerated auras, lasers, and flashy effects that ruin the entire episode's experience. I quietly hope that the next episodes won’t be filled with that again, but I’m still afraid that the peak of the next episode will be overloaded with lasers and beyond. I hope I’m wrong, and I hope TOEI realizes that these extravagant animations aren’t good for One Piece.
