A tragic tale of the immortal Azik hits hard

MY GOAT AZIK and favorite character!! I didn't to say anything about him before bc they were going for a misdirect with him which I like and find as a funny change compared to the novel. Crazy good call on him being of the corpse collector pathway by the way. Your the first person I've seen to make that connection before it was revealed and I can tell you've been familiarizing yourself in the world of LOTM. Love it and I always look forward to your goated reactions 🙏🙏

This is by far my favourite episode of the donghua- Azik is one of my favourite characters in the novel, and the amount of respect that the animation and direction team gave to his character is so, so wonderful to see. It’s also incredibly satisfying to see you nail the story and the plot developments. The entire reaction I was literally grinning ear to ear seeing you not only piece so many things together correctly, but having fun with it which I find to be the heart and soul of LoTM- figuring out the mysteries alongside Klein, creating your own theories and connecting them with what has already been revealed, all of it is why LoTM is beloved so dearly by so many people. As usual, here’s some fun information regarding this episode with extra details (don’t worry, all is spoiler free): Most of what you saw in episode 6 regarding Azik’s story is actually original to the donghua. The novel briefly touches on his backstory (or in this case, one of his many backstories) and leaves a lot up to reader interpretation and perspective, so seeing how much love the donghua team put into his character and this episode gives me so much hope for later episodes, especially with how they nailed the emotional notes as well as donghua exclusive content. I’ve heard that LoTM donghua only improves more and more here on out, especially episode 7 and all episodes past 10. Any important content that many fans originally thought was cut out has a high chance of appearing later in the series, as the donghua had to rearrange parts of the story to make up for having to try and fit 70+ chapters in the first three episodes (Tencent the studio executives made the demand of reaching the Clown fight by episode 3, hence the extremely fast pacing in the beginning). Regarding the nation of people within the Hornacis mountain range, they are heavily implied to be inspired by not only ancient Egyptian customs and practices, but also might be similar to Tana Toraja in Indonesia wherein locals possess a unique relationship with death- Torajans view life as merely an earthly existence that is then to be celebrated upon and after death where one’s true journey begins. The locals are infamous for holding many day long funerals (some can last up to 5 days or even an entire week) to celebrate the passing of loved ones. However these festivities are extremely expensive so it’s not uncommon for families to keep the deceased remains of their loved ones within their homes until they can have a proper Torajan funeral (saving up the expenses needed can in some cases takes years). During this time, the deceased ones are still treated as active members of the family where their clothes are frequently changed and made up, the bodies constantly cleaned and kept cool, and are even spoken to openly by the remaining family members. As always, loved the reaction and I’m glad you’re still enjoying the series!

Igris from Solo Leveling finally got the backstory he deserves and transmigrated into LOTM haha. Azik’s dead army was also like Jinwoo’s necromancer ability 😄

I see Pochita has been added to the setup haha, is that a Black Myth Wukong shirt??

I love Azik! He's such an amazingly tragic character! No spoilers! But fun fact: He's the reason I had my first ever crash out from a novel before 💀 for the first time I experienced a story where characters do things the reader might not like. And it was an eye opening experience! (Before LOTM my greatest feat of literature was reading the HP books, so it was quite the leap!)
