The Rings you see shigaraki and AFO generate when flying forward is presumably shigaraki's original quirk. The Kid in the orphanage is a younger Overhaul. AFO copied Chisaki's quirk and stripped away the reassemble aspect and only left the destruction aspect.

The kid in the orphanage was Overhaul. AFO gave Shigaraki only the decay/decomposition part but not the reconstrction part. I think they left the image out in earlier seasons. His origin qurik should be something like float.

Okay so All for one said he took away the ability to reverse the decay, right? So the original quirk was able to heal the things he destroyed aswell. Atleast that is how I understood what he said. This man ruined shigarakis life even before he was BORN. Absolute evil man I can't believe how bad I feel for Shigaraki now
