Personal Art: The Castle (Patreon)

The next page of the comic has a lot of tricky shots. I got some help from a buddy and then put it down for a few days to do some personal art. I've missed doing headworld stuff on a whim. It feels good to get back to that.

The Castle is an assemblage of kingdoms, lands, faerie houses, etc that are smashed together- many of them abandoned. Jacky has been visiting since she was a little kid. Tripping into otherworldly places comes naturally to her. The Cat's Way is its own thing, but non-cat characters often hail from the Castle. They're both part of the same grand mess. It's likely the source of a lot of livestock and wildlife as well.Scenwulf, Ginch and Vlinder are all from the Castle originally.

I think some otherworlds will be their own thing too, but at the moment I consider the Castle just another word for Faerie. It's a catchall for pockets of folktales and mythology and has wonky borders with both the Way and the Waking World (where normal people overpay for gas).I don't know what to call this sketch bundle. I hadn't meant to do so many. I just wanted to capture the mood of the setting. It is very Hellboy.

I'll be dumping this on social media when it's finished. Would be fun to do one for the Way and Bendy Road too, like a series of setting mood boards.Jeez I'm barely holding my head up. I'm going to sleep now.
