Bowling Amber (Patreon)

"Amber Summers - Bowling" won the sports poll!

Amber was in a three-way tie with Aurelia and Ally for most of the week and she only pulled out a win in the last minute! Aurelia was the origin of this idea but I was somewhat biased in favor of Ally playing tennis. That said, bowling is a surprise that's fairly fun and I'm apparently on an Amber spree lately. I'm always down to draw some more Amber, so I was ready to come up with fun ideas for her.

For this picture, I knew I wanted to draw an action shot of Amber bowling but I also felt it would be fun to show the result. In this case, the result was her throwing a gutter ball. I made sure to reference some bowling poses for the throwing but I'm not sure how accurate she's being. The hard part was simplifying the background this time around since I didn't want to spend all night drawing a realistic bowling alley building. I think the simplified approach works pretty well here. If you'd like to see my process, check out the attached timelapse!

Anyhow, thanks again for your support, everyone! If you want to suggest characters for the next art poll, I'll be setting up suggestions over on Discord!
