December Devlog - 2025 + Catgirl Creation Progress (Patreon)
Content
Hello and welcome back to another devlog!
It's the end of 2025 which means that now is a good time to do a sort of year-in-review devlog. I've done a lot this year even though it feels like everything has slowed down significantly. That said, I also have some new stuff to show off, so let's cover that first!
Catgirl Care Progress
While I've been waiting for IKModifier3D (coming in Godot 4.6!), I've been taking the extra time to flesh out the character creator some more. It's currently capable of everything it needs for the alpha demo but I've started working on things like the UI theme and trying to make everything a bit more sturdy under the hood.
The biggest things to show off are the new UI theme and camera control in the character creator. Neither are finalized (I'm thinking of swapping the UI with a journal-inspired design) but they go a long way with making character creation feel more complete.
I'm planning to go in and put in comments for all the existing code and improve controller/keyboard support but if Godot 4.6 releases soon, I'd also like to get to work on making the catgirl move and develop the petting system (very important).
I'm really happy with how the character creator has taken shape. It's very powerful while also being user-friendly I think. I may take some time this upcoming month to improve the catgirl's model a bit (her mouth disappears a lot and she needs a custom eye shader) but features come before polish so we'll see if I find time.
VTuber in Alpha
Sweet Tea, the VTuber assistant I mentioned working on this past month is now in what I'd call Alpha 0.1.
I decided against using an LLM for her for the time being due to the lack of usable ethically trained LLMs. Instead, I'm giving her transcripts of my own livestream VODs and she just chooses a sentence at random. She doesn't really know what's going on but it's charming and I'm planning to improve her gradually over time.
Her voice is using a LibriTTS-R model running through Piper TTS which is 100% public domain/permissive license training data. Generative AI is something I feel needs to be trained with care to not steal anyone's data and then used narrowly (in this case, for entertainment only) as well. This voice model meets my standards fairly nicely.
I still refuse to use generative AI in my art, games, soundtracks, etc.
I've started streaming with Sweet Tea over on twitch (VODs here) and she's fairly fun. I'm planning to make an animated model in Godot at some point to replace her PNGtuber. After that, I'll likely add her to my regular list of characters for art polls!
At some point in the future, I'd like to build a system where she'll receive my speech as text and search for similar phrases (see: Levenshtein distance) before saying another quote in the same category as the phrase. Unfortunately, that'll require a lot of manual text labeling but it would make her slightly more coherent.
2025 in Review
So, what have I been up to this year?
For game development, I've made a ton of progress on my two main projects, Rockin' Resort and Catgirl Care. Rockin' Resort's first beta released in April (Give it a try if you haven't yet!) and Catgirl Care Chibi finally released in November (link).
While I've spent the back half of the year focused on Catgirl Care, I feel like I've been laying some solid groundwork for these future releases. Planning for 2025, I'd like to start releasing public betas of Rockin' Resort and Catgirl Care more frequently and hopefully bring more attention to my games.
As for art, I've been busy! I posted 250+ pictures this year (including variants) and still found time to introduce two new characters (Pam & Aziza) with a third on the way (Sweet Tea). I feel I've pushed my art a lot further this year than most, with complex backgrounds, dialogue, and comic panels becoming more prominent. The Pam & Aziza comic even made use of a full 3D environment which I feel turned out really cool.
While it's awesome that I produced so much art, I've also lacked time for personal projects and game development. I may push towards less commission work in 2026 with an overdue price increase. I haven't decided on what that would look like but it likely wouldn't change the existing Patreon pricing. More likely, I'll probably make all Patreon commissions use my regular commission prices (including proper per-panel comic pricing).
There's a lot I could speculate on but right now, the focus is on the past year and there's one more thing I'd like to mention (it's silly, don't worry).
it took a long time to edit (and finally convinced me to abandon Vegas Pro) but earlier this year, I finally release a series of videos with my friend, Homer, called "Skill Gap - Ocarina of Time" where we compare our twin playthroughs of the game. It's not really a Patreon related project, but if it sounds up your alley, you can watch the first part here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFK1Cz4Gubk
What's next?
2026 should hold a lot more cute lewds and gamedev!
I'm going to continue working on Catgirl Care and my art for the time being. I want to get to the petting gameplay for Catgirl Care at some point soon. I may also adjust my commission prices but I'm not in a rush about that.
You should also expect Sweet Tea to join my other characters soon! I'm really happy with how she's turning out.

Anyhow, thanks as always for your support! It's due to the money I earn on Patreon and through commissions and game sales that I've been able to do everything this year. I've come a long way in the past few years, moving from being clueless about programing to developing full 3D games with some fairly complex code. That all was made possible thanks to you all here on Patreon. So thank you again and I hope you have a great new year!
