subjected my friend to this video (we both love madoka magica, just for context) here’s what they had to say: I think the main reason you don't like this show is because you don't relate to the characters. That's fair, but the way you talk about their feelings and irrational actions seems so weird and callous to me. It's like you've never done something selfish or stupid before and I just don't believe that. Madoka Magica is a show about how every human does, because that's true. You kinda ignored the main reason why Sayaka was upset and went "joker mode." It's not exactly because she got "cucked" but because her body underwent a transformation into something nonhuman, and she felt she couldn't ask Kyousuke to love a zombie. I don't know how you got the cuck narrative at all, actually. It's just. I mean have you thought of how you would act in these situations? When you were like 14 no less? It sounds like you only want to see characters that act palatable and rational. If you just said that whenever someone made you defensive about the show, you probably wouldn't have needed to even make this video. No one likes the show because they think the characters made the right decisions.
