WOW! This remake is actually pretty fucking good (it got Rizzo to cry almost immediately)...

Oh Rizzo, I cry a lot in this movie too :( This is one of the first live actions Disney puts out there I believe, you can feel there was still care and love in this project. It's my favorite one, for sure.

Tito

Team Cate all the way!! 😹

Beth

😂 I have the same issue with Cate vs Tilda, I cannot keep them straight. My husband thinks it's hilarious. (He teases me because I find them both incredibly unattractive, *sorry* 😬)

Kat Bland

Poor Rizzo was emotionally assaulted by the start of this movie. It's ok, you're not alone!

Lily James went on a liquid diet to get her waist to fit into that dress (it's literally 17 inches!!!!). The dress is beautiful, but that's so fucked. If you look at her waist in it, it's inhumanly small. Richard Madden said in interviews how he hated the trousers because he was constantly being told to move his junk in an awkward position, so it wouldn't be visible and "distracting" in the movie. It's so weird that the director of New Moon wrote this. I kind of love that they didn't do revisionist storytelling here like "Maleficent" did. Kenneth Branagh directed it amazingly, but it does sound like aspects of this movie were miserable to shoot. I still think Brandy's film is the best adaptation. "Ever After" being a close second.

like where the hell did THAT come from!?

yikes! That is WAY too small and she would have been equally beautiful without risking her health! Also, that is so hilarious to hear about Richard Madden's junk lolol

It's one of their best ones in the last 15 years!

I love this movie. I saw in theaters when it came out. I love "Ever After" as well. And Brandy annd Whitney Houston's "Cinderella". I think that Rizzo may still be grieving the loss of his own mother. Grief comes in waves. I still cry from time to time over the loss of my grandfather. And he's been dead for almost 22 years.

I just started to watch this reaction but had to pause to drop a comment saying that I agree with Rizzo, please watch Babe 😭

Ok, when I saw it for the first time, I liked it, but I was little taken back how much extra it is? But I think watching it through your eyes, how much work went into this movie, I was in awe. And I really loved it. It is always interesting to see movie through different eyes, but especially if it is you two, you always bring something into the movies and I love them even more. Also the painter is played by Rob Brydon, he is a host of Would I Lie to You.

Recent Patreon joiner -- so I'm watching a lot of your older reactions. I LOVED this film and saw it when it came out in theaters. I think it's a pretty under-appreciated and under-viewed film. Rizzo, this film got me in the heart, too. Also Rizzo -- just so you know, a man who cries is hot as hell.

Hey folks! Is there a secret to making Benji's and Rizzo's voices the same volume as the movie? If I make it loud enough to hear the movie, my ears get blasted when they speak.

Yeah I heard about this too. Lilly James was already very slim and they still wanted her to get smaller waist because it would look more cinematic. Just wish they made the dress fit her, not the other way around. The BTS ballroom scene, she was almost proud to have lost 5 inches around her waist and I don't think that's normal. She was 24 during the filming of this. Disney needs to do better and not body shaming and giving stars distorted body image under the premise "it would translate on camera better" like no.
