the “bandaid” that rizzo was asking about is in the book, the book symbolizes the first time conrad sees belly in a public setting which was the memorial garden in ep 3, how he sees how different she is and more grown up but the bandaid, he saw it and said that she was still belly

we literally aren't hating on him - we're expressing how we don't think he knows how to express himself and UNTIL HE EXPRESSES HIMSELF TO BELLY we aren't gonna wish for him to be with her. As someone who lost his own mom, we 100% empathize with a character like Conrad - but it doesn't mean he's ready to be dating. Also, this show was MADE for us to pick sides. They're not real people and the show capitalizes on its audience arguing over them like this so please don't get mad at us for engaging with the show the exact way it was meant to be engaged with!

Finally watching these. Idk if anyone has said this but this is supposed to take place their freshman year of college (books). It seems like they just kept all of the same dialogue and storyline with a different time jump and it makes no sense.

I was watching a YouTube reaction to 3x04, and we were discussing Lucinda's role. Two things I believe help explain Taylor's character a bit more: Lucinda was young when she had Taylor, so she's trying to act out a young adulthood she never got to experience. Her jealousy and possessiveness when Belly has other friends or hesitates to commit to Steven suggest that her father abandoned her and Lucinda as a child, possibly before she was born. This may have caused her abandonment issues and could also explain her self-destructive tendencies in relationships. No confirmation on the second one, but it would track.

I think it's a very southern thing that you guys don't think they are too young to get married because in the northern midwest 21 is considered young to get married. Most people I know have gotten married in their late 20s.
