yall belly’s mom literally said she didn’t want them to be married bc belly doesn’t know who she is as a person yet not just bc they’re young. she can see that belly hasn’t come in to her own. we have been seeing this whole season that belly is giving in to what jeremiah wants and disregarding her true feelings. which isn’t jeremiah’s fault but from laurel’s perspective it is a valid reason to not want your daughter to be married yet

As a non-book reader I totally understood what she was saying was bullshit, even before she said anything she told him he's only saying it because she is marrying Jeremiah, she is gaslighting herself in that moment. Then breaking down when she thinks shes far enough away from him (I feel like he could still see her) and then not telling Taylor right away (couldn't be me). But I also think Conrad needed to hear that perspective. I'm hoping what she says helps him understand how badly his hot/cold behavior completely destroyed her trust in him.

I don't disagree that Belly and Conrad are in the wrong. But from Conrad's perspective, the reason he is sharing his feelings now is because he found out about the cheating. All along, he's convinced himself that Belly is better off because Jere can give her something he can't. But whne he finds out, he realises that Jere is capable of hurting Belly and chooses to fight for her. Which is why he waited till 2 days before. They're still shady though, but I am team Conrad (in 5 years, post therapy)

This episode showed that once again Jeremiah is expecting belly to show up for his decision because we see that Jeremiah has essentially made the decision to work for his dad, stay in Boston, and take classes online without having spoken to belly first. When she’s under the impression that they’re going to finish off their last year living together in their first apartment, as newly weds, (hence why she decided to give a Paris). As team Conrad though I believe years need to pass before I want Conrad and belly together cause 🫣

Conrad being distant and depressed while his mother is dying of cancer when he’s basically a kid still is not worse than Jeremiah as a young adult cheating on her twice, laughing about it with his buddies, letting Belly give up Paris for him when he’s planning on staying in Boston to work for his dad without telling her and planning another trip with his buddies right after they get married. He is selfish as an adult and Belly just gives him whatever he wants because they have a weird mother son dynamic. Conrad left for years and has been working on himself and has grown. I don’t care if she ends up with Conrad, but she does not need to be with Jeremiah.

unsure if you guys will actaully see this (team bonrad here) i respect all of your opinions love seeing your reactions to this crazy show. if i can offer up a nugget of knowledge about another reason why laurel was so adamant about them not getting married: she knows adam cheated on susannah and she's seen patterns in jeremiah that are very similar to his dad. she doesn't know about jeremiah cheating on belly, but she may suspect that he would in the future and that may be another reason why she doesn't want belly to marry jeremiah. (she also might be team conrad but that's another story)

Demonizing Conrad for his communication problems & acting like Jeremiah is a "great communicator" when he's just manipulative doesn't make sense to me. Conrad is rightfully getting chewed out by Belly for confessing his love now but nothing for Jeremiah's manipulative disagreements with Belly & Cabo. Jeremiah always has to guilt trip & twist every problem he has onto Belly. After 4 years, they can't even have a disagreement without Belly giving into him because she knows it'll blow up into a huge fight & they'll break up. Nobody calls him out for this but every 5 seconds we get to see Belly & Conrad get dragged for their faults.

We constantly saw Conrad yoyo-ing his feelings for Belly and taking it away. Its clear in those actions what Conrad did to hurt Belly it was wayyyy more painful to her than Jeremiah cheating on her. Ultimately she had more to lose with Conrad because she loves him so much deeper. That is why she was able to let the cheating go so easily because the depth of their love doesn't go anywhere near the depth of her love for Conrad. The way I see it, Belly is self-sacrificing herself by choosing what is best for everybody involved instead for herself (and we saw her true feelings revealed in the flashback scene at the bar). She waited to be out of Conrad's sight to breakdown and cry because she knows everything she said to him earlier was a lie. Their characters have now flipped positions. Belly is now the one self protecting like Conrad used to do, while Conrad is the one laying all his feelings out there just like Belly did in the 1st season. Their love has never truly died, but it has never truly lived because neither of them has ever healed nor had grown out of the naivety that they needed when it comes to first true love. Belly have always put Conrad on a pedestal and was constantly deceived by her idealism of her relationship with him. Ultimately, the relationship will not be successful until Belly gets her self identity back. We see that he did the work, but now it's Belly's turn to do hers. She's gonna need time in Paris to come in terms with herself and find out what she wants and needs, learn how to communicate her feelings and do something for herself instead of others.

I genuinely - and I say this with all love, lol, but as someone who is objectively looking at both of these boys without ANY interest personally (this is Rizzo) - believe alot of y'all are biased - WHICH IS OKAY! But I would definitely ask yourself why you see US as biased instead of maybe considering any of the HUNDREDS of poitns we've presented over the last 22+ HOURS of footage we've filmed (22 episodes over 3 seasons). I think the difference is the childhood flashbacks highlight how much older Conrad is than Belly. Like, he taught her to ride a bike (like a dad); he ws always looking out for her (like an older brother/dad), that scene 'I was looking everywhere for you' is always used in media to show a parent caring about their child.

Tbh, I love ragging on Conrad because he's obviously the end game, but I definitely don't think she should marry Jeremiah (and if she stood her ground more, they wouldn't last anyway, like you said). I don't see the manipulation, though. I get the mother-son dynamic where he says please, bats his baby blues and she caves but he's a self-centred, privilaged boy, not actively malicious. I do think if Belly grew more of a backbone and a bit more self-repsect, she'd go with neither. They both treat her like a toy they want to pull around or coddle to death.
