Now that the patreon has been around for a few months, we've reached the point where several upcoming handbooks are all ready for playtesting. To make this easier, we've created a shared google doc folder where any writer can put any of their work they think is ready for the testing phase:

There's only two docs in there right now, but expect that number to grow, change, etc., as more authors move in handbooks.

This also brings us to an important point. Several authors have expressed the desire to share their work with non-backers; some have ties to online communities, and others just want as many testers for their work as possible. I see no problem in this, but since you all are the patreon backers and are therefore the ones primarily responsible for this project even being able to exist, I wanted to make sure this passed through you: would anyone have an issue if every author was allowed to share their own work with others?

It wasn't so much that they were sharing it outside the Patreon in my case, but that the Patreon wasn't even told about it. No idea until I stumbled across it on the Paizo boards. If possible, an update when new documents go live in the folder for review would be very handy.

That was the result of mistaken communication on our end. Authors weren't supposed to start sending links out until we'd passed it by the backers, but wires got crossed and I wasn't on Skype at the time, and so some things got publicly released early.

I have no problem with the material getting shared - additional ideas, tweaks, and other fixes, plus basic proofreading all improve the quality and value of what I'm receiving.

I wouldn't have any problems with the roughs being shared outside this group, but maybe restricting it only to the rough Alpha phases for the general public, then keeping the fine-polishing of the Beta phase restricted to this Patreon and maybe a select group of trusted playtesters?

And like Alex below mentioned, I would very much appreciate notifications via the Patreon regarding updates and the posting of new Handbooks.

I'm fine with others getting to contribute and help provide more suggestions...I know I don't always have the time to take a good hard look at the new stuff, alas. As far as I'm concerned, more eyes are good. Of course, I'm primarily here for the pdfs myself, so others might feel differently. That said, I definitely agree that I would like a notification via Patreon when a new playtested book is added.
