Hi guys! Here is the Latest Veggie Vlog! We discuss a lot of different topics spanning the channel and the different series we cover. Ingeniously, I had a list of all the subjects that I could have posted into this description, but I deleted it as I went! XD

But I ask for numerous honest feedback through out, so if you have time, please give it a watch!

Oh, I also include my '150 Subscriber' compilation video at the end, a video made over 10 years ago! XD I give a couple of disclaimers beforehand as I use some strong language I wouldn't use nowadays, but if you are interested in seeing what I was posting in my first year on Youtube, check out the end of the video! :)

I'll make a comment per subject, just so I don't forget anything :) Syncing: I personally hate syncing.. I often watch reactions on just a single screen and having to have two windows in the same screen to watch both the reactor and the media irritates me to no end... Even back when streamable and such weren't a thing, I just decided not to do patreon because of it tbh. So this new development with you (and others) including it in the footage has made me personally much more likely to go support a patreon. Whether your fears are unfounded or not, I have no idea. I would likely think as you do tbh. But if you can make it work, that is definitely the way to go to attract people like me <3

Movie breaks: I personally don't watch the movies on Patreon, because I don't like syncing. So I watch the youtube ones almost exclusively. And I always listen to the break talk - because this is the important stuff for me. I want to hear your thoughts :) Every once in a while I might skip something if you end up out on a long tangent that isn't interesting to me (wrestling or sports in general for instance, lol), but most of the time I just listen to all of it..

AtLA season 1 finale: So.. The finale is a "Part1 & Part2" sort of thing from the show runners' side, so clearly they think it should be watched together. Personally I am okay with either. I think you will enjoy it either way. There are other "Part1 & Part2"-pairs later on that I am much more fuzzy about than this one.. Not until season 3 though

Resolution: The resolution doesn't bother me at all <3

I can understand being worried about posting the reactions on here with the footage included. Some reactors use sites like gdrive, dropbox, or sync . com etc. Nowdays most use the direct patreon upload, since thats also now possible since 1-2 years or so. But some others also just have the timer running. Having the footage included obviously would make the viewing experience better, but I think if you are too worried about it being flagged at some point just keep it as it is. Also since people can get access to your patreon by just paying 1$, the chance of someone with malicious intend to join is higher than when you would have to pay f.e. 5$ or even 10$. Iv seen that happen on a different patreon channel, where a person came in because they stopped liking the reactor and reported their dropbox files to the network and they to take down those links. And btw, I was never affected by youtube restricted mode, but its true on Desktop you can only see community posts if you go directly to the channel, whereas on phone you see all community posts on your subscription page.

1. I prefer not having to sync my own movie/show but i will do it if it is easily available to me (mostly if i can find it on a streming service i subscribe to). However, for example, last i checked atla would not be available for me with the english voiceover (only dubbbed to finnish) without vpn which i don't currently have. 2. I think AtLA season 1 finale (part 1+2) could be done either way, but it is more of a complete "story" than ep7+8, and part 1 does end up in a bit of a cliffhanger if i remember correctly. Also, it is the last two-parter until halfway of season 3. Personally, I would prefer 1 video, but i don't care that much either way. Honestly, and i know this is a very unpopular opinion, i think season 3 finale would also work as two videos, with parts 1+2 in one reaction and parts 3+4 in another. But 3+4 definitely need to be watched together! 3. I don't mind 720p (i think i watched this video with 480p, hah) but i mostly watch youtube and patreon on my phone so i don't know how it is on computer.

Latest info on youtube viewership drama suggests the following: Views are down specifically from desktop pcs. This is since aug 10th or 11th depending on timezone This is likely due to a change in ad blocker plus extension used in browser by many people. Users if this extension had trouble accessing youtube at all around August 10th. And the changes made to ABP seem to have stopped the data from being sent to you youtube that previously registered as a "view" Doesnt appear to be specifically linked to restricted mode RPMs, views and like ratios seem to have drastically changed but revenue seems to be stable, this is due to the views that aren't being counted being from users that have blocked ads from being served on videos. I didnt get far into this video but i thought id pass on what the latest ive heard is around the youtube drama. Hope it helps

Being at a premiere, especially for a whole hour, would still be work for you. I don’t want you to undervalue your own time and what you do. There are definitely youtubers who do not attend their premieres, some who pretty much always do, and some who will try to make them when they can, but still miss some. I think an hour long premiere would be a lot, I don’t think I’ve ever been at one that long. I tend to need to pause videos that long as well, so not sure it would work. Maybe try it on something shorter like the Avatar videos and see what difference it makes? Even just enabling them without attending might increase your engagement, though. If you do decide to try, make sure you do a patron post or something to let us know, so we can make an effort to be there.

I do see other uncut reactions uploaded with the content displayed. I very much enjoy watching the full length avatar videos with the content displayed. If i had to synq id probably just watch the YouTube edits. Honestly though im here primarily for harry Potter book club so my opinion on reactions probably doesn't matter that much

Steven

Personally I kinda prefer having to sync up once reactions are uploaded (and thankfully I have a lot of the movies that are on your polls.) Once the reactions are uploaded to YouTube I usually just watch those versions afterwards. As for 720p it doesn’t bother me personally but with 2k and 4k displays being fairly common now, it can look pretty blurry since the video is being stretched. If possible for Avatar maybe two-parters you could react to them back to back (but as separate Patreon videos) and upload the youtube edits at the regular cadence? I think what most people mean by watching them together is that its just a better experience, not that they want them edited for youtube as one mega episode. I could be wrong on that though:)

RavenLord

I don't watch the film reactions, because I have a lot of difficulty syncing. My computer doesn't want to run two streaming browsers at the same time, and I end up with buffering issues and frequent loss of the shows being synced up. That's a "me" thing, though, and you have to do what's best for you. If TV show reactions go back to being blurred out, unfortunately I won't be able to continue, but again, you need to do what's best for YOU and for your comfort and security. I won't be mad, I promise.

For syncing video content, you are the only patreon that I am subscribed to but I've seen other Youtubers mention that on their patreon you can get the unedited reaction but you have to have your own copy to sync along with it. I don't really think the video quality is that important, as you said it would make the file size larger and export longer. As someone else mentioned, I watch a lot on my phone and the quality has been just fine. I would be sad about the PO box but I totally understand. I can wait until next year to send you something. Do what is best for yourself, seriously, life is stressful enough so please take care of yourself, I haven't said it before but one chapter Harry Potter book clubs don't bother me in the slightest. Personally I don't watch any premieres mostly because I watch when I can and often get interrupted so it isn't really possible for me. For the breaks in the movies, it doesn't bother me at all, sometimes I skip people stopping to talk in a reaction and sometimes I watch it depending on my mood. Hope you are having a great day!

Alex Hopps

Sorry for so many comments but regarding the final 2 episodes of book 1: I think it would be more enjoyable for you to watch both episodes together even if the editing takes an extra week or it gets split into 2 uploads Im fine with waiting an extra week for a double episode. Ultimately though, you do what is best for you. Ive seen the show multiple times. Im just enjoying how much you are enjoying it

VeggieGamer

Thanks so much for the info and the link, Alex! That was a great video summarizing what it could be! And though some videos have really under performed, I honestly can't say the revenue is to the LEVEL the losses are. So I think he is right! This is very reassuring, though probably does still affect how much the video is appearing in non-subscriber's recommendeds!

Alex Hopps

Oh i certainly agree that the drop in views is certainly a negative with how videos are going to to be served to people within the algorithm. Unfortunately as much as we want to support people all we can do to help is make sure we watch the videos and click like. Its just a subject i find fascinating and i have been following for the last couple of weeks

Bradley Elsken

As to movie breaks: I like listening to people talk (and you have a fascinating thought process IMO- I'm a fellow autistic person), so I always listen to the whole thing. High video quality doesn't bother me- my computer doesn't like 1080p all that much. When it comes to finales, just do whatever works best for you.

Josh Z

I've seen plenty of people who don't sync using a service like Dropbox Streamble etc for full reactions on Patreon. And then they upload an edited copyright friendly version to youtube. I like this method compared to syncing which can be frustrating because if I have to pause (before your break) it's annoying to have to resync. That's my thoughts on it!

MahBawlzItch

I brought up syncing few ATLA episodes ago purely cuz I’ve notice multiple creators on my feed who have stopped syncing and now have it in the video included, but then again they also charge like $3-$5 dollars, this would probably make it more reasonable

Madikuma95

I think it's fine to do two separate videos for the AtLA finale. Also I usually watch the YouTube version of your movie reactions since I often don't own a copy of the movie to sync to.

Methanoutput

Hey Veggie i just wanted to give my 2 Cents, Regarding the Movie Reactions, i am not bothered by the syncing, i think it usually goes pretty smoothly. Of course it could be a problem with Extended Versions etc., but that was rarely the case for me and usually not a big problem. So i think, if keeping the sync will give you a peace of mind, to not worry about channel strikes or something similar, i would definitely be okay with keeping the syncing. About the quality - I dont think it bothers me much. I think actually if you want something nicer looking, i would invest in a camera, but that is pretty expensive and probably overkill. To be honest, when i do put on the newest book club, sometimes i dont even have the video on and listen to it like a podcast. And yeah i would love a "Day with Woozle" Video, where you just talk and and run around with Woozle. The 150 Subscriber Video was really cute!

Yes you defenatly should make the last ones a double one. Reason being the two episodes really hang tightly together in termes off progress, and the first half ends in a terible point to end the watch session. It would be far mor enjoiable for both you and us. What most other reactors do when they Come to the two parters is watch the one half, then talk abt it and make predictions and then watch it. Though i do get the problem with editing, and there would be duoble amount off work. But it could be a patreon thing though you could watch everything in one session and then post it on patreon and then you cut it on YouTube, and make that into two separate that way you can edit as normal.

The age thing isn't because "YouTube" doesn't believe your age. It's because certain draconian governments have instituted laws that basically require it (for reasons that aren't those states for the laws). Mine isn't on restricted mode, and if it decides that I'm a child, I'll just stop using the site entirely. They aren't getting my ID uploaded so that I can watch videos. I have no issues with video quality, but I'm also not a youngin'. Most younger people I know say they won't even watch things from the early 2000s because they're "blurry". If you want young people, you're going to have to have top quality. Having to watch my own copy of something isn't a huge problem, so long as it's on a streaming service for free. People watching it in two windows on one screen is wild to me, though. If I have to watch my own, I put that on the TV and watch the reaction on my laptop. It's the same as people doing absolutely everything on their phones. I don't know why they would want things to be so tiny (not because I can't see but because it absolutely is not as enjoyable).

Hanneli Norrgard

Oh, once I started watching you on Patreon, I YouTube stopped showing you in my feed. Once I realized you post additional stuff on there, I told myself I needed to go look at it again, but it went right out of my ADHD brain. I'll go over to it now, though. Finales don't need to be watched together if they're two-parters, and I can't understand why everyone thinks it's necessary. We didn't use to watch two-parters together, and the suspense was part of the fun. Also, we love dog videos!

PumpkinSparks

I don't watch premiers for movies, but premiers for serieses are really fun. In the ones I watch, the reactor and the editor of the video is usually in the chat with us - which is part of the fun and appeal I think. I totally understand if you don't open the PO box this year. I was planning to send you something (actually it's for Woozle, but that would be the same box 😜) But I can totally do that next year. The 720p doesn't bother me personally Always happy for more Woozle content!
