The lore does say they consume their quarry body *and* soul. Though, somehow, I’m having a hard time imagining succubi using souls as currency in this universe.🙃

Hahahaha, I haven’t forgotten about the dungeons (I may have taken a lot of creative liberties as I tried to envision what they’re about in a short story…🙃) and while I have a lot of questions about them, I’ll hold my tongue- er, fingers and just wait patiently to see what unfolds. Monster souls might make sense. Maybe an alternate source of mana?

i havent seen any stat screens, so likely not EXP. But i also think Yue probably did the dungeon thing as a "reason for demi-human transformation" to be "internally plausible" but honestly, i just like spitballing, it's Yue's story, i enjoy reading it wherever it goes

To continue the spitballing (sorry if this is the worst possible forum for it), something that immediately came to mind with the opening lore was the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, and it’s funny when you mention the internal plausibility. Maybe there are stat screens and exp in the dungeon itself?😅
