Well, this was maybe the most fun I've had with a commission yet! The commissioner gave me a colour scheme and told me to make a succubus out of it. I've never had so much creative freedom before!

That looks lovely! Out of curiosity, what is your preference when receiving commission requests? To be given limited information and let your imagination run wild or be given detailed specifics, or something in-between?

Honestly, the most important thing to me is that the commissioner comes out of it happy with what they get. I enjoy creative freedom more, but if somebody has a very specific idea of what they want that's no problem for me!

No, why feel guilty? Like I said, my main goal when writing commissions is making sure my commissioner gets what they want!

honestly, the creative freedom thing is nice. it means i just need to get details for some of the main things, then let you go ham with anything else :P

I know, I can’t help it. While I can’t draw artistically to save my life, I can appreciate where you’re coming from and the challenges being given more details entails (my line of work sees me make technical drawings, very dry and rigid stuff, but I digress.) I’m still over the moon with the first commission and am really looking forward to the next one!🙂
