Hey guys, this mod makes the SIMS 4 Pie menu respond instantly. Its a pure optimisation mod with one goal: to make your gameplay seemless

There will be files created inside the [Modsby] Instant Pie Menu folder for diagnostics and metrics. They are made for me incase you run into issues. They should never reach large size so it always keeps only the last 100 logs. ModGuard should not complain. The idea is that if you are happy with this alpha send me those files and tell me what you think, if you are unhappy with this version send me those files and tell me what you think.Honest truth: I only tested it on 2gb of mods, my patience is low on load time considering I have to reload 20 times per day, i really need 3-6 people with 300+ interactions to click and tell me what happens!

THANK YOU- Modsby

My mods folder is like 170+ gb lol and this mod has been amazing! It works really well

Puju

Yes works amazing, once you load everything for 1 time it pop up super fast. Even with over 200 gb of mods :3

alright, i've been convinced to sub because cracking the code on pie menu lag would be world changing lmao testing out the mod, one thing i noticed is that switching between sims seems to reset the instant loading of menus. is that meant to be the case? also, what are the incompatibilities between this and other menu mods? i know you're still in the testing phase but it can be helpful to know what this currently works and doesn't work with. i don't know if it's meant to work with your MDM or auto pause on menus but from the testing i've done, it didn't seem to work with your last version of MDM and i think it broke the pause feature with the auto pause mod after i removed MDM and tested with just this + auto pause. other than that, keep up the great work! i'm super looking forward to where you take this and the MDM project! <3 edit: after some more testing, i want to add that the resetting of instant menus seems to ALSO happen after a few moments even when i don't switch between sims. i tested this with cooking since i use SCCO and it's currently my longest load time with all the options in the pie menu.

feedback on the instant pie menu mod: My mods folder is 230GB large with many mods adding social interactions to the pie menu (Helaene's PrefPlus + her argue/insult socials packs, Lumpinou's RPO + lovestruck cheats + pie menu load helper, kiarasims4 interactions, maplebell's romance mods, NC4T greetings, and many more) plus larger mods like the LN's royalty mod, WW and NWP, etc. Basically, my pie menu is huge and can take 10+ seconds to load every single time i click on another sim. 1. with this mod, it loads slowly the first time and then instantly afterwards but there are some caveats to this. if you ever switch away from the active sim, and then switch back to them, the menu has to load from scratch again and is no longer instant. this means that if you are switching back and forth between multiple sims in a conversation, any benefit from this mod is kinda nullified completely since the menu loads from scratch every time you switch sims. 2. sometimes when selecting interactions back to back, the second one doesn't register. like; you click on a sim from the first time and wait for the menu to load. then select and interaction, and it appears in the action queue. then you click on that same sim again and the menu pops up instantly, but when you select another interaction this time, nothing happens. the menu disappears but nothing is added to the action queue. after a few seconds or so, the pie menu pops back up on its own and you can now successfully select that interaction. it's like the game doesn't register the subsequent interactions unless the menu is loaded again in between them. this seems strange/unintentional. 3. this doesn't work with TwistedMexi's smarter pie menu, which is unfortunate, because while i appreciate the pie menu loading instantly, i still have an ungodly number of interactions to search through to find what i'm looking for, so a search function is pretty essential. the mods don’t conflict or cause errors or UI issues or anything, it just that tmex's mod wont do anything when installed alongside this one. i hope they will one day be compatible. overall, i think this mod is a great idea and will be really useful to many people, but currently is limited in it's usefulness. going forward I’m hoping you find a way to load all possible interactions for all sims the first time so that not only does the menu remain instant when switching between sims, but so that it's still instant for every npc you click on because currently, the menu loads from scratch for each sim you click on for the first time, and is only instant after that. i also think search function integration is a must, not just for me, but because the majority of the people interested in a mod like this will be people with a tin of pie menu interactions to sift through, and many of them will likely already be using TwistedMexi's Smarter Pie Menu mod. thank you for creating this, please keep going!

2026-09-15 23:00 I second what everyone else is saying. Per-Sim it has to reload. I personally use one of the older builds on curseforge, because while it lags slightly each time, its still overall faster than pie menus. I dont know if this is just a subjective feeling, but the instant pie menu feels like its loading longer the first time [per sim] than the loading time on the non-instant pie menu. That inconsistency is jarring. I have 11oGB mods; tons of interaction mods.
2026-09-14 00:24 EDITED. As perhaps I was unclear, and I misspoke and said pie menu in a place in the text where I meant your (this) "instant" drop down, pie menu replacement. So: I second what everyone else is saying. This instant drop down menu, Per-Sim, has to reload every time you switch between sims, and this is too long. Longer than your regular drop down menu by a lot. This might be ok if it were a one time long load. But it isn't. Example: Switching between sims in the same household makes everything longer, since the very-long, pre-reload, per sim, appears to reinstate, any time a sim is switched. Even if I return to a sim the menu has already preloaded for, in the same household, on the same lot, earlier (Like even five minutes earlier). Because of this, I personally use one of the older of your "drop down" builds from curseforge. Because, while it lags slightly each time, the experience is still overall faster than both this drop down "instant" variant, and the standard pie menu. I don't know if this is just a subjective feeling, but because the experience of using this specific "instant" drop down menu, makes gameplay feel slower (even if, perhaps on a timer, seconds might technically be saved), your other non instant and the native pie menu are both a smoother gaming experience. TLDR: Because of the ultra long first click, that happens every time a different sim is selected (even a sim it pre-loaded for earlier) 'Instant' Drop Down, does not, subjectively, feel better in gameplay, than your regular drop down, or the standard pie menu. (Unfortunately). That inconsistency, also, in menu load time, is also jarring. BTW: for clarity, I have 11oGB mods; tons of interaction mods. (About 60 additional interactions packs from different creators that add to the sims pie menu ).

Also; what's the feasibility of the idea I DM'd you: 'make sims clickable / make the pie menu or drop-down menu accessible, while sims are posing.' ? Would be nice to have sims get buffs and actually chat, mid pose. A lot of both day to day, and niche, gameplay actions and activities are not extant in the sims, so using supplementary poses and animations make them possible. (ie.: Regular, non-cartoonish talks and verbal fights, chasing sequences, different fight styles.)

My mods folder is around 150GB, I have most of RPO, adeepindigo's mods, Maplebell's more kisses mod, Annasims' mods and more (I did remove a bunch while trying to reduce my pie menu lag lol, might add them back now). My pie menu would take between 4 and 5 seconds to load each time. Like the others have reported, there is one initial long load and then every load after that is instantaneous. It does reset when you switch active sims. It doesnt work with Smarter Pie Menu (i dont really care but I know people really love that mod). It does however work with Tyjokr's pie menu mods (Tidy Pie Menu and Mood and Trait Driven Pie menu), so I would imagine it works with most mods that rework the pie menu layout. Even in this state, this is a pretty game-changing mod. I've been struggling to get in the mood to play because of how long I have to wait for the pie menu to show up everytime I want my sim to interact with another sim but this almost completely resolves that issue. 10/10 do not regret becoming a paying member this is great!!

Thank you. There is an update coming in about 11 hours or so on all feedback addressed and bug fixes. Just doing some prerelease testing on local

Looking forward to it!

Just noticed that this one is actually way faster than the newer one when you click on sims o:

Thank you for this, I would have never noticed. I'm gonna check what that could be
