Apologies for the long post as this episode gives me so many thoughts: I like that you caught onto the wine scene with Gus. So many people get confused by it. I always interpret it as he goes to talk with the waiter because he has a crush on him and their discussions make him feel normal. But when he's drinking the wine and thinks about how it tastes bloody, he's reminded that he can't be "normal," he's still got more work to do. Now that you know the full chess game that led to where Gus is in BrBa, Walt looks pretty fucking stupid ruining it all. I also love how this series starts out with you being excited see when Jimmy becomes Saul, but once we finally get the moment, there's no joy in it, only sadness. A few things I noticed watching this time around: In the memorial scene, Kim/Jimmy put down a glass next to the same mug Howard made Cheryl's coffee in earlier in the season. The shot showing Mike and Nacho's father on separate sides of the fence made me think that they're two sides of the same coin, but one chose revenge whereas the other chose acceptance. And a fun fact: the photos used in Howard's memorial came from the actor's Instagram.

fun fact, some of the pictures in Howard’s memorial was pulled from the actors instagram 😂

From way back Chuck didn't want Jimmy to advertise using his last name bc people might confuse it with HMM. Jimmy became Saul Goodman and destroyed Chuck and Howard's legacy and reputations and took over their role. I feel like his and Gus' storylines mirror so well

I interpret the wine scene as the spoils of war. The waiter says it tasted meaty and bloody. It's like Gus devouring Lalo's blood. But then when he finishes the glass, he realizes he has more blood to spill.

So good, great reaction. I'm all caught up... but gonna carry on regardless. And then rewatch.
