Great reaction, this upcoming section of Daredevil is definitely different but still great in my opinion. A couple of things, it is pronounced Elektra with an e at the start, it was definitely hard to hear the first time they said it. And then also, while the other shows are optional, there are at least parts of Defenders you will 100 percent have to watch that are crucial to Daredevil Season 3. Whether you need to cover the whole rest of show is debatable.

When Primate gets there he'll make decision on how to proceed with Daredevil season 3, I don't think it's nearly as crucial to have watched Defenders beforehand and it can be effectively summarized if needs be with a few sentences.

You don't need to watch Defenders to see Daredevil season 3. Someone can literally explain everything relevant in like 1-2 short sentences. And you don't even need it explained in the first place. You might be a bit confused about why things are the way they are at the very start of the season, but other than that there's practically 0 connection between Defenders and Daredevil.

Well I mean the things set up here lead into defenders, and while defenders isn't amazing the chemistry between all the defenders is electric! Maybe he can watch it on his own.
