I saw this movie for the first time two years ago and I thought the effects were definitely scary and disturbing. They did a great job at that. I even told Bruce Campbell (Ash) how I thought that shit was scary when I met him at a convention the following month haha.

Yessir Prime! So glad you're finally getting to Evil Dead, must have commented for it every time 😁 Highly recommend the rest of the series, even the TV show!

IM PUMPED! Some of my personal favorite movies, with Evil Dead 2 being top of the list. You need to watch the sequels and hopefully you do but before the second one… Raimi lost the rights to the first one, so they spent the first 10 minutes sort of doing a reshot, recap sort of thing. I don’t want to spoil but it can be weird going into the second one not knowing that. Excited to see the rest of them!

I hope you do the rest of the movies and the TV show. This franchise is banger after banger after banger

Yes! I really hope you do the TV show and all the movies too! The TV show is soooo good.

I'm not gonna lie Evil Dead 2 is the best of the 3, I haven't seen the show though so i can't speak to that

Had to re-up my long lapsed subscription to see this. I love this movie for what it enabled Campbell, Apart, and Raimi to go onto later; but the most I can say about this one is that it lived up to it's poster of being grueling horror. I'd encourage you to look up the making of Evil Dead 1, it is entertaining in its own right. Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness (3) aren't technically connected because of legal bullshit. So each of them soft reboot each other for the first fifteen, or twenty minutes. Tops. Bruce Campbell's Ash is the connection throughout the series. On camera I mean. There's an actual reboot that came out in 2013. It recaptures the grueling horror aspects of this one. From here on out though Evil Dead is a much sillier affair. As an aside. It looks like you're doing the hobbit. Peter Jackson has done other things prior to his Tolkien work. My favorite of that period is called Dead Alive here in the States and Brain Dead everywhere else. Jackson has done weirder and sillier. But I think that Dead Alive is more consistent for an introduction.
