New contender for worst episode of Star Wars television imo.

I loved this episode. We got a fun story, prequel references and great cameos. And closed it out by tying up a loose end.

I need to vent for a minute, I’ve been getting mad all day reading comments like these, I honestly do not understand…Why are people trashing this episode!? It was super fun, great references, new worlds and scenery, hilarious cameos, plenty of nostalgia pieces thrown in, and it 100% progressed the story forward! Im so sick of people saying this season has no story, I mean hello, the story is about the Mandalorians!! That’s what it’s all been about! Bo Katan is a great character and they have developed her story alongside Din beautifully this season. They are great on screen together! This week story, Bo and Din strengthened their relationship. Bo regained her former Mando gang place as their leader. She officially got the dark saber back which we knew was coming and now the Mando crews can come together to fight whatever is coming! (Gideon, Thrawn, etc) Im going to sit back and enjoy the show! I know I should have learned to stop reading comments online by this point but here we are, lol. 😆

EZ

Why do people think cameos make an episode good? It's fun but man the pacing of this season has been bad compared to the first

EZ

Exactly you are being nostalgia baited and blinded by cameos, you can have fun, but y'all turn your brain off when it comes to talking about the writing and pacing, which in this season has been really bad compared to the first 2

All long running shows have a meh season or two. This is obviously going to be one of them. But it's still doing the lore building we need for Ashoka and other future shows. It's not a waste when viewed as part of the larger tapestry. And we have had some truly epic 'moments' in Season 3 that are a credit to the franchise. All that being true....yeah we've easily gotten the two worst episodes of the series just in the last few weeks. They are definitely dropping the ball this time around. Too much action and barely any story progression. One must be sacrificed for the other...or you lengthen the runtime. They don't seem to get that recently. And I suspect it's more about cutting costs than anything else.

I can for sure admit there has been some eh episodes this season in comparison to others but at the end of the day we in the Star Wars universe doing dope shit so its still a win at the end of the day for me personally.

Happens with every show and movie no matter what, thats the way of the world sadly, cant please everyone.

I think they make a good episode better, and a bad episode watchable. But yeah relying on cameos to carry the handicap is a losing strategy if you overdo it and this was a bit in your face. lol

EZ

Yeah it makes it a hell of a lot more enjoyable watching them with you bro, Just wish this season focused truly on Mando and Grogu this season, so far it seems to pointing the focus on Bo which is fine, but give her her own show lol

Spencer Thurmond

EZ, I agree with alot you said here but I’ll only speak for myself, I disagree about being nostalgia baited or blinded by cameos in this episode. I do agree people shut their brains off too often! I promise I’m not one of them. 😄 Trust me, lol. -says random guy on the internet. 🤣 I’ve been watching Star Wars shows ever since they started and cameos and nostalgia are a big part of Star Wars. Now I’m not saying it always works either! Most of the time I’d say it doesn’t! I think there is good and bad ways of doing cameos/nostalgia in Star Wars. In regards to celebrity cameos I think they usually don’t work. Ill agree and say Jack Black, Lizzo & Christopher Lloyd in this episode are examples of how it didn’t work. So I’m not arguing with you there. (Even though they didn’t bother me I can see how others could have not) Celebrities like this draw you out of the world your trying to be immersed in and pull you back into our world where you think about other shows you’ve seen this person on, attention on what your watching is now gone. Great Star Wars cameos are returning characters you haven’t seen in a long time or possibly even ever in live action, like Zeb last week or anytime Hondo shows up in Rebels. 😂 Nostalgia is tricky I’ll gladly admit that. I have plenty of my own issues with certain Star Wars properties (sequel trilogy, some boba fett/obi-wan kenobi shows for example) and think nostalgia baiting is real and can be a problem at times. I just don’t feel that way about Dave Filoni shows. He’s proven plenty to me over the years how he tells stories and I enjoy the ride. I also rewatch these shows quite often mostly through reaction videos. (shocked I’m sure 😂) With that said, this episodes cameos/nostalgia I thought worked perfect for this crazy domed world we found ourselves on where nobody works and droids are relied upon for everything. It was unique, (commented on our world as Star Wars so often does) it fun and crazy. The concept of a place old droids go to live is funny and cracks me up. 😂 If this same scene took place somewhere else we’ve been, like say on Tatooine, of course it wouldn’t have felt right. Remember this is all my opinion, I know others don’t agree and that’s totally fine, like I said before I was just venting in this post cause I’ve been seeing such negativity all day around this episode. One last thing, I’m also not directly comparing this season to the first 2, I totally agree that writing/pacing was superior. We just disagree on the writing/pacing quality from this season.

I don’t understand the point of having Din and Grogu around I truly thought they were setting up some sort of antagonistic role for Bo Katan and having Din assume himself as a potential leader for the mandalorians to help take back mandalorian against Bo but he ends up giving the dark sabre to her anyway when they made such a big deal about it not being able to be used unless won in combat. Grogu shouldn’t be in this season at all

Nathan Cline

Disney execs probably figured he was there big toy selling cash cow and demanded him back.

jeremy Wyrobnik

i realy liked that episode, execpt i wanted that din keeps the saber
