Also, with BCS… I’d say in terms of writing it’s on the same level. Attention to detail, direction, etc. acting is also great. The thing is, chemistry teacher turned meth lord is simply a more interesting concept than a show about a lawyer. It’s not as “intense” as breaking bad. Still one of the best shows I’ve watched, though, would definitely recommend

Honestly when you start watching BCS I wouldn't get too caught up in comparing if it's better or worse than BB. If anything it's better to look at them as companion stories. Each story is improved by having watched the other.

Better call Saul is made by the same crew as breaking bad so it is all the same incredibly talented people. The main thing is that BB is all about it's main central plot and more of a crime thriller while BCS doesn't have much of a core plot it is the characters and their relationships that are the main driving force. Whether you prefer one over the other I think really comes down to if you are more interested in character drama or a plot heavy thriller as they are both executed masterfully.

I go back and forth on which show I like better, BB or BCS. Honestly though, it’s probably best not to compare them. It’s one story, told between two shows and a movie, and it’s just about the best story ever told on television. If anything, BCS feels more consistent simply because this team had already reached the pinnacle of their craft by the time it began. There’s just not a bad episode of either show. So amped for what comes next.

I got into breaking bad after the mid season finale. Better call Saul I watched every premiere. It starts off good but like breaking bad every season it gets better and better. 2 different shows but all the same love. Can’t wait for you to end this journey and start that one.

BCS is one of my all time favorite shows. It is slower paced but very well written and perfectly complements BB.

I still give breaking bad the nod as best ever but better call Saul is right up there and the way it ends makes it a masterpiece too.. not to mention it enhances the breaking bad story

Precisely. I know Vince and Peter have said there was no plan for the series set in stone, same as BB, but everything does feel very deliberate. In reality, the whole team is just incredibly skilled at building upon what they’ve done and making sure every last bit of character development feels earned. As an aside, it’s almost surreal getting a reply from the one and only ThatsSoGordo after hearing you mentioned at the end of every video haha

I too was a firm denier of the idea that bcs could be as good as bb. because like… how? but trust me when I tell you, it’s better, BB still my favorite show of all time but it takes the storytelling the dialogue the shots up a notch and especially for someone like you who really appreciates all the technical details I think you’ll come to agree with me. I’m so excited for u too go even deeper in this universe

I’m in the minority for it but I genuinely enjoy BCS more than BB even with the significantly slower pace it has. I think Saul’s charm throughout the show is what really got me and his character progression is fantastically written. Having said that I understand it’s not for everyone and I completely get it, but if you love this universe then I’ll always recommend giving it a shot. Hope you enjoy the rest of your journey through the BCS/BB universe as much as you have already, it only gets better from here (as crazy as that sounds)

I was surprised at the number of people who also share this opinion. It really doesn't get better than better call saul imo. I can't imagine any show ever outdoing it for me.

These next 4 episodes are the literal “breaking” point in Breaking Bad. I remember watching this live every week and couldn’t imagine how it could better than what it already was. But trust us when we say, the last half of this finale season is some of the most unpredictable yet absolutely crazy finishes to a show ever! Just masterfully done!
