4:39: Tarkin said that. Specifically, “fear will keep the local systems in line. Fear of this battle station.”

You’ve never seen Kino and Luthen’s actors?! 😫😫😫😭😭😭😭 *Shoots myself in the head* Google them and reply back. 🥹

Kino knew they were surrounded by water he knew he had no way out but he was willing to "burn his life for a sunrise that he knew he would never see"

Nick Huber

Cassian isn't a leader but he inspires others to lead

Also Andy serkis plays kino and he played Gollum in LOTR, snoke in the star wars sequels Caesar in the planet of the apes. Ulysses klaw in black panther, Alfred in the new Batman movie and a lot more. Stellan Skarsgard is baron Harkonnen in dune he's in Chernobyl, Thor, good will hunting. Those two are the biggest stars in Andor although Andy does a lot of mocap characters so you don't see his face as often

Amazing episode. One thing I love about this show is that so many people can die, even people you know and care about. You don’t know they’re all gonna be ok, and there’s no beautiful death scene for them. It’s realistic and gritty

There’s no way people from kinos level didn’t help him swim. They respected his discipline and all knew him for a while.

Doubt they knew he couldn't swim ahead of time and don't think they would've heard him say he couldn't at the end there. Add on to that how hard it is for even trained lifeguards to "help" someone swim in a situation like that, and I think Kino is probably screwed tbh. Hoping I'm wrong, though. Would be sick to have a cameo from him later on.

Andor is a gritty & grounded show. It’s stellar because it doesn’t need the Jedi/Sith/Force nor the romance tropes. We are getting a superb show with great story, excellent acting & dialogue, amazing visuals…ALL from the citizen’s POV. We are seeing how The Empire authoritarianism is disturbingly terrifying and their effect on the ordinary every day citizen. The two respective speeches by Kino and Luthen are possibly two of the best speeches ever across all of Star Wars content…. There are a number in this series alone.

The writing in this show is really on another level compared to the rest of the SW projects, that Luthen speech is award worthy

Why rebel? I mean, because Andy Serkis and Stella’s Skaarsgard fucking told you to. Because it’s better to die fighting, the living and giving in. Because there’s only ONE WAY OUT! Man, think of how quotable Star Wars is, and this episode might have given us the best speeches in the tire galaxy. Kino Loy leading the jail break knowing he couldn’t swim. Luthen letting 50 men die, to preserve on ISB spy. I just want every Star Wars show to make me give a shit about every moment like this show does And shouts to Genevieve O’Reilly, I mean Mon Mothma was only a small part of this episode but she crushed it too

Reuben Gray

I believe wholeheartedly that Andy Serkis jumped in the water. As he said, he's going to play it as if he's already dead so it doesn't matter if he died drowning he was going to get out of that place.

I think it's a much longer swim that it looked, things that are miles away can actually look quite close on the open ocean. Overall tho, I really loved the ending of Kino's story (as heartbreaking as it was). Going into the episode, I expected him to sacrifice himself for Cassian or something, but this felt so much more surprising/tragic to me. And on the bright side, since his fate was left open ended, there's at least a chance he figured something else out.
