Howard is developing man, I feel like he's become more of a decent person since the start of the show, from showing more empathy to how he handled most of the funeral stuff pretty well, he checked with Jimmy first to see if he was okay with how the Chuck memorial speech (or whatever it was) turned out, he comforted Rebecca in the funeral, etc. Also, his actor gave a really great performance this episode.
