Tonight, let's share kitchen tips 😀 Sleep well! 00:00 Intro 01:55 Avocado tips (pit removing, slicing, growing a plant) 14:10 Peeling garlic 18:30 Chopping / preserving fresh herbs 25:30 Cleaning tip 28:35 Hasselback potatoes recipe (no talking) Music used: "French romantic accordion music" by Turpak (audiojungle) Channels mentioned: @PickUpLimes (Food prep hacks video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojFLLEdXIXk&t=211s&pp=ygUba2l0Y2hlbiBoYWNrcyBwaWNrIHVwIGxpbWVz) @JamieOliver ‣ Hasselback potatoes & creamy avocado sauce recipe: Ingredients: 1.5kg medium-sized floury potatoes 4 tbsp olive oil 2 to 4 garlic cloves, sliced Herbs of your choice (bay tree leaves, parsley, thyme, rosemary, basil...) 2 ripe avocados Lemon (optional) salt, pepper Put each potato in-between two chopsticks, and cut through to the stick, taking care not to cut the potato all the way through to the board. Place them in a plate or cooking tray and "slot" your bay leaves and minced garlic between each slice. Toss in the rest of your herbs and season well. Roast for 50 mins – 1 hr until the potatoes are tender throughout and the tops are golden and crisp. Baste with any oil in the pan halfway cooking to get extra crisp potatoes. In the meantime, mash the avocados to a purée (I like bits left over), add a few herbs, about 2 tbsp of olive oil, salt, pepper (and lemon if you'd like). When the potatoes are cooked, spoon the avocado sauce over the top and serve immediately. The crispness of the potatoes combined with the creaminess of the avocado is divine! --- Avocado plants photo by Ashe Walker (Unsplash). --- Find me here : ‣ Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/moonlightcottageasmr/ ‣ Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/7HTOAi6IQXsE54wqgwYdFn ‣ Apple music https://music.apple.com/kn/artist/moonlight-cottage-asmr/1538409942 ‣ Amazon music https://music.amazon.com/artists/B08MFP6HD8/moonlight-cottage-asmr ‣Deezer https://www.deezer.com/fr/artist/112065532 ‣Tidal https://tidal.com/browse/artist/22006926 MY GEAR : ‣ Camera : Sony As7III ‣ Lens: Samyang 24-70mm / 2.8 F ‣ Microphones / recorder : Sennheiser MK4 + Zoom livetrak8 ‣ Tripod : Benro KH26NL Disclaimer : This video was created for relaxation / entertainment only. Thank you for sharing, Diane! This is lovely, I love cooking too and it's always great to learn tips and tricks from others, so I'm really looking forward to watching it!

My heart stopped when I saw the thumbnail!! I need to stop everything I am doing and watch this!! I just know I will love it with all my heart. 🤎 Oh, and I can't wait to see Blanche Higgins back!

Wonderful video, thank you. Ehm, your pepper grinder doesn't seem to give much pepper, we almost don't see any falling down. Or is it very fine white pepper ?

moonlightcottageASMR

Thanks! It is very fine indeed (black pepper though), I think we don't see it on camera but it was actually there :)

Max

(sorry I'm a bit obsessed with good working tools)

How delicious. I love avocado. I love an avocado and tuna sandwich. Mix half an avocado with a small tin of tuna; add a bit of lemon juice, olive oil and pepper. Or spread it on toast. Perfect.

moonlightcottageASMR

I'm a vegetarian so I'll skip the tuna but I've never tried avocado in a sandwish I must admit! I'll definitely give it a try, thank you :)

Oo la la! C'est magnifique! This has a VERY strong French vibe that I don't remember seeing in one of your videos before. The music, ambiance, clothing, and set all just feel to this American like what a French cooking channel must be like. (Don't tell me if I'm wrong. I need to believe there's a cozy, gentle, warm, beautiful country somewhere in the world right now.) Un million de merci, Diane! :)

moonlightcottageASMR

Thank you! Yes this video is a very French cliché ahah, especially the music, but I liked the fact that it matched the name of the final recipe ;) Be sure there are indeed these vibes for real in some parts of France, especially in old castles / manors, the kitchens definitely look like this (but much bigger!) :)

You and your videos are Beautiful paintings that keep renewing themselves. The music was Grand. How you bring the images you see to the camera is remarquable. Charmant Terminé

This was such a relaxing and interesting video. Love the tips and that you use fresh grown herbs and ingredients. I’m not a good cook at all but I love watching someone who is….. food videos are awesome and between the music and ambience and your lovely voice, it was such a pleasant experience. The potatoes look awesome and while I’ve never tried them with avocado, after watching this, I might have to give this one a go! I so look forward to all of your videos, and there isn’t a night that goes by that I don’t fall asleep to one of them. Looking forward to seeing Blanche again as well!, Keep cooking and stay well. I can’t wait till the next video. God bless!

What an amazing video! I loved the cozy ambiance of the kitchen and that each and every hack is explained so carefully and that you show each hack multiple times. If you have more recipes or hacks to share, I’d love more videos like this!

A kitchen can be a place of cosy ambience if desired. I love cooking and love these hacks. I sometimes watch Jaimie Oliver's vids as well. Thank you for these garlic hacks. I always love using garlic myself in just about anything. Where I live it is full of wild garlic and I love it. The stainless steel over the hands hack is a new one for me. I'll do that in future. I have just got home from camping to a new Moonlight Cottage video. Such a lovely surprise. I so love and look forward to your videos Diane xx

moonlightcottageASMR

Glad you liked it! I find cooking very grounding too, and always enjoy listening to some of my favourite music during the process :)

I just love this video. Thank you for all the tricks ! So helpful. When you were speaking about the one for garlic i was thinking "yes but the smell on our fingers after it !" and then you just respond to this ! I too learn to cut herbs in a glass from my grandmother. I loved doing it whenever i helped her to cook and the thing is one of the things i enjoyed the most was the sounds it causes :) I also love Pick up lime channel. The little thing i use from her isn't a cooking hack but sort of a meditation one te be in the moment : listing 5 things you see 4 things you ear 3 things touch 2 things you smell and 1 thing you taste. I love writing them down when i want to remember a particular peaceful moment i've done it.

Sophietje

This looks delicious, I can’t wait to try out the recipe! I did use the garlic hack tonight and it worked so well, thank you!
