Hello there,

Here is my latest roleplay. And I must say : never before did a video give me such a hard time ! Along with some technical issues (very bad sound, had to dub 95% of the video in post production) and troubles with my set, hair and makeup, I'm not very happy with the video itself. This was very experimental and I think I've reached the limit of what I can do alone. But I had fun working on the props and lighting and I believe this was an experience that will give me more strength for the videos to come.

And, as mentioned earlier, I composed and performed the intro music and I am quite proud of it 😊A behind-the-scenes video will come very soon.

I hope you're having a great day 😀

The music at the start was amazing. I think my favorite part was the bone casting. Thank you for sharing.

jondwillis

are you doing this with just one camera?? if so, extra kudos for the shots around the 9:00 mark!

Boring Books for Bedtime

I am loving this! And your original music is terrific. I totally appreciate the difficulty of creating this on your own, but I think you're too hard on yourself. It's great.

I'm so excited to see this that I've decided to "live tweet" as I go. ;) So...LOVE the intro music, which gave me goose bumps, as did the "good evening stranger". "Many people have lost their way these days" - so true. Your makeup and hair actually look perfect to me, because this Druid/pagan priestess should look wild and earthy and sexy. OK, now I'm wanting to buy that gorgeous wooden bowl you have. Very good acting on the "why the woods are cursed" part; it made me sad to see your sadness. LOVE the drums and also the cool special effect of cutting an invisible cord that actually makes a noise when cut! That part reminds me of the ASMR folk who do "plucking" as part of Reiki/aura cleansing, but I personally would choose a pagan cleansing any day. Oooo...when you asked, "Why so sad?" I thought about why I AM sad today, and your reply was a spot-on reminder ("ask for guidance"). I'm really liking the birds in the background. NICE scalp tingles from the rustling leaves as the space is cleared for the bones. More tingles as the bones are thrown, accompanied by great music. And now I'm feeling a little freaked out...because the bone reading is so accurate for me and my situation that it's downright scary. Video over....and here's my final review: Patreon needs to add emojis and GIFs so I can put in two lines of applause hands and a standing ovation!!! I really do love this! Though I think I should add one thing: I also like Gentle Whispering's ASMR, and her metaphysical videos are the ones I vastly prefer to her mundane stuff...but I've noticed that I'm in the minority on that. In terms of total views, she seems to get more views when she folds towels or something else that's tame. So although I really hope your followers are more open and brave, if you don't get a lot of views or likes, please don't think it's because of the quality! I'm 1000% confident that the real reason would be that most people are afraid of anything beyond the ordinary. Case in point: I once gave a lecture on dreams at a law firm where I worked, and one of the lawyers who'd seen it advertised came up to me and said, "I see you're doing a talk about dreams. That's a scary subject." I said, "Well, it can be. Are you coming?" And he just stared at me a moment, then said, "I said that's a scary subject"...and then he turned and walked away. So that's how most people react to the Other Realm. But I hope your followers will love this as much as I do, and you can rest easy that it truly is an eerie, beautiful, mysterious and totally cool video. Happy Samhein to you and yours, Diane! ) O (

Though I am no fan of Reiki, this video was mezmerizing to say the least. Your effort with the set, production, props, and your own acting cannot be described by words as the proper words to describe it have not been invented yet. The music was a pure treasure to listen to. It makes you melt into the chair your sitting in. The storyline you created was facisinating also. Please do not doubt your talents just because the finished product does not measure up to the imagined image in your mind. We cannot see into your mind. Only the images on the finished video. I highly doubt anyone will not be impressed with your effort from start to finish. Be proud of yourself. You have earned it. I am sure your Family is. We all Love you and your videos.

I know you had trouble with this video, but believe me: the results are just as mesmerizingly gorgeous and immersive as everything you do. Thank you for the early access; I enjoyed this thoroughly - and you can believe I was listening intently to that fiddle at the beginning—BRAVA; it’s eerie and enchanting and perfect. 🎻💜

This was fantastic. I loved your music! Maybe this is just because I’m not media-savvy, but I wouldn’t have had any idea you had trouble with the sounds if you hadn’t said anything. It was all around lovely ❤️

Fran

I listened to this around midnight and as the smoke was rising from the burning stick (cinnamon?), the coyotes back in the woods started howling. For future videos of this kind, please consider more smoke, pulling out negative energy, the Moon, s crying in a black bowl filled with water, and brewing herbs in a cauldron.🌙 What instruments were you using for your music? Thank you so much for this.

moonlightcottageASMR

Thank you Mary, I think the bone casting was my favorite part too :) A great opportunity for slow motion !

moonlightcottageASMR

Ah Rhiannon thank you so much for such a review ! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And yes I know this kind of video won't be a "success", but I never make my videos with that goal so I'm not worried :) And I'm ready for weird/mean comments as well, all the channels that create "spooky" (or pagan) content get them. I don't know if you know Lune Innate but she was one of the very first ASMR channels I subscribed to and she was a great inspiration. Thanks again !

moonlightcottageASMR

Ah thank you Jessie ! And yes it was just 2 notes of fiddle ahah, but I'm glad you liked them ^^

moonlightcottageASMR

Thanks Fran ! Yes the smoke was beautiful, it was a palo santo stick :) This is a kind of incense, traditionally used to raise good vibrations. The instruments were bodhrán, fiddle, tambourine, harp and keyboard (with nyckelharpa sound).

Ben Anderson

Thanks for sticking at it. My work was heavy going yesterday so this was great to listen to and unwind afterwards.

Beautiful video, Diane. I know you are not happy with the outcome, but a lot of your skills and talents are beautifully on display here. We love to see you push your boundaries and see you grow as an artist. Cheers.

It is beautiful Diane, truly beautiful. It's tough to shake off when you have technical issues in the making part and also exhausting. You've done a phenomenal job.

Jussi Enqvist

I have to agree with everyone. Another spectacular video. The music really sets up the atmosphere and the feeling of the video from the start. Great job! :)

Simply Rachael Studios

This is one of my favorite videos so far!! I love the entire esthetic so much! And the opening music was so perfect! I love it!

Greetings, Diane! I have a general, technical kind of idea that I thought I'd throw out for your consideration. YouTube has started putting as many as 4 pop-up boxes at the end of every video, which is maddening, since it makes me miss the last few seconds of a video. I tried blocking the pop-ups but then lost too many pop-up features elsewhere. I just noticed that Maria at Gentle Whispering has made a workaround that is perfect: at the end of every video, she includes a still photo/logo, with wind sounds - so that the pop-ups show over that photo instead of over her videos. So perhaps you may want to consider doing something along those lines....? If nothing else, it'd be a creative exercise in branding yourself! How CAN you sum up you and your work in just one still photo and maybe some music or a sound? A real challenge for sure! Take good care, bright blessings...and thank you for sharing your gifts with us. )O(

moonlightcottageASMR

Thanks Rhiannon, sorry I've just seen your comment. Usually my videos include a black fade at the end, where I choose to place the thumbs, and I try to avoid them from hiding anything important. I might try to put them later in the video, when it's totally black. Yes I've seen that feature on Maria's videos and may give it a try as well. Good day to you !

I am very sorry to read that this video gave you such a hard time, as the results are amazing. And the music, you did it yourself??? It is sooooo amazing, gave me chills and tingles right away. There is truly no limit to your creativity <3
