Hi there !So these last weeks have been a bit stressful and the studio renovation isn’t finished yet, we’re still waiting for the floor to be there… So I’m still recording in our living room. Hopefully I should be back in next week !Meanwhile, I’m working on the Christmas roleplay (bookshop), and I’ve been struggling with the costume design, and wanted to share a bit of the process with you. As you know wearing costumes is one of my favorite part in the videos, so I always try to get everything perfect !This time it won’t be a historical roleplay, but some kind of timeless, « country vibe » one. So the outfit had to be something timeless as well, yet with these cozy-old fashioned vibes I like so much, meaning natural and comfy materials : linen and wool.My first intent was to get something victorian / edwardian inspired, with a blouse and a waistcoat, quite similar to what I wore in the wand shop roleplay, but when I realized that the blouse I intended to wear had shoulders pads (and these don’t look good on me AT ALL), I decided to go for something else.My second attempt was for something more casual, with some « dark academia » vibes, so I searched for different pictures for inspiration, mainly from movies like « little women » (2019 version), « the bookshop » (2017) and vintage fashion blogs, and I made a few really quick sketches that included a sleeveless jumper, a cardigan and a linen vest. Then I scrolled on secondhand websites to find what could match my ideas, and tried different options, and will finally choose the comfiest I could find : with a cardigan (probably not the one on the last picture though).

Now I’m just waiting to get back in the studio so I can start dressing my set. I have LOADS of books stored in our bedroom. I will share a BTS video later, and will probably record a studio tour at the end of december, when everything is finished ! Thank you for your patience :)Have a wonderful day 😊

It's official: you and I are psychically linked. ;) About 3 months ago I decided to redecorate my house, and as I nosed around online, I realized that what I've always been drawn to has a name: Dark Academia. So I redid my living room with that style and I'm also updating my wardrobe to it as well. I'm excited to see what YOU do with that style - both in your costume and with your set! Stay well, and stay you. :)

Thank you for all of your hard work in making these wonderful videos! I'm sure the bookshop roleplay will be cozy and relaxing, and we can't wait to see what the studio looks like! You should be proud of what you do :)

I love the white shirt with puffy sleeves! How does it look when you add a wrap or sweater to that combo?

In the first grouping of pictures I really like the outfit on the bottom left, with the brown vest and long skirt and white blouse. I’d love to wear something like that.

Looking forward to that video. 💜

Yes it's beautiful but not on me, I have a small head and large shoulders, so even with something over it, it still looks like I have very large shoulders !

If you're interested, you can go to "gibson girl dress" shop on Etsy. This is an outfit they often have for sale (but maybe not at this time).

I feel like you could consult her eminence Ms Bernadette Banner on this aesthetic!
