It features very pleasant sounds in my opinion (I love pillow fluffing), and I hope you'll enjoy it. There's not a lot of talking on this one but if you'd like a no-talking version, please let me know 🙂The roleplay will be filmed next week and released in about 2 weeks.I also wanted to keep you updated about the latest Youtube (bad) decision. Maybe you've already heard about it from other creators, but starting in November we'll no longer have the option to disable post roll ads, meaning there's a good chance you get a loud ad at the end of any video, including ASMR/relaxation videos. This is bad news of course, for both the viewers who just want to peacefully fall asleep and for asmr creators who are potentially going to loose viewers, subscribers and eventually receive a lot of angry comments. Honestly, it's as though YouTube - like Twitter - is doing its level best to destroy its own success by putting profit ahead of what customers and content creators need. I appreciate you doing what you can to still provide us with an ASMR-appropriate experience! :)

Hi Diane, I don’t mind ads at the beginning or the end…it’s half way through that is annoying. I’ve unsubscribed from two ASMRists I used to enjoy watching until they started having ads during the actual video. I usually try and watch the beginning and end ads all the way through as I understand that’s how you all get some income. Thank you for new video. I love the ironing noises and of course your amazing voice.

I have a YouTube premium account specifically to be able to watch ASMR videos without any Google ads. It's not very expensive. But of course I understand that for some people it might still be too expensive.

if I’m watching a video to fall asleep I often put a timer for the video to turn off a minute or two before it actually ends, that way I never run into any ads. might be a good work around!

And this is precisely the problem: if everyone uses it, no more ads will show, and that means no revenue for the creator, so probably the end of many channels. Jellybean Green ASMR also talks about it in her video.

I wonder if maybe you could do long form versions of your videos where it's the regular video plus like 8 hours of ambience on loop before you finally hit the ad? You make such amazing sets I'd definitely enjoy more ambience videos.

ASMR is the reason I went to YouTube premium last year and it's absolute garbage that they are basically making a money grab like this to try to force everyone else into getting it. And, BTW, I got a notification last month that they would be raising my YouTube premium rates. As for this video, it was lovely, and I definitely fell right to sleep last night. Thank you for it.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately it's difficult to do so for 2 reasons : it would make very, very heavy files to upload and I have a weak internet connection, so it would probably take like 20 to 25 hours to upload, and maybe 5 to 6 hours to render in my software. The second thing is more personal: all these youtube videos are hosted on highly energy-consuming servers, and the bigger files, the more energy it consumes, that's why I try to maintain a balance between the right video lenght and my values, hoping it makes sense! :)

Sorry if I made you uncomfortable with that, I didn't intend to lecture anyone, but just to point out something you may not have been aware of :) Everybody is free to do as they wish with ad blockers, but here it looks like YouTube is trying to shoot itself in the foot!

I’m on YouTube premium as I absolutely don’t like ads anyways. I think it’s terrible though that they force you to have ads even if you don’t choose to want them. It’s so sad that basically every platform enjoys forcing ads on people these days.

Can you tell if you are getting revenue from the ads vs Youtube Premium? Do they tell you? I'm unsubscribing from other streaming services so I will be able to sign-up if needed. It is how I originally justified Patreon support. Sitching one expense for another.

They do not tell precisely but yes I do believe that the revenue from the premium accounts are more important than the ads for the creators. Thanks for asking :)

I'm sorry for replying to older videos but I do love your contrasting roles Diane. Your gentle and soothing roleplays and descriptions and the contrasting deviousness of Madame Dumais, as well as the Banished spell scribe and the firm but humorous Cook and kitchen hand. One of the reasons I joined because you take ASMR to other levels of creativity. I can sit and watch your hairstyling videos just for their tingleness. I wouldn't have even dreamed of doing this before. I love the way you involve members in asking for help too. Would so love to see the three above characters again xx.
