Whoever told you to start your anime journey with Frieren clearly understood the assignment. It's a wonderful story that is subtle to the point of seeming simple but also complex when you scratch below the surface of the narrative and think about it.

This is my fav anime of all time. Im glad you are prepared for emotional cuz this has made me cry more than any other piece of media. Its such a great show and I rewatch so much cuz it gives me that great hit of intense feels

Happy to join your Patreon community. I was drawn here because of your YT reaction. I saw you get drawn in and formed a connection and how it fit your state of mind like a glove. Your poignant closing review closed the deal for me to put my support behind your Patreon. You'll love this anime and other anime that you'll watch. Like many anime, there's some foreshadowing with you knowing it is foreshadowing. Frieren does it well :)

I totally agree!! My brother is the real anime fan/was the one who gave me the idea to start a reaction channel, and he told me that I would be obsessed with Frieren so I should start with it. All props to him lol. I can absolutely see why he recommended it now, more and more each episode💛

It has absolutely been pulling at my heartstrings, in ways that stay with me even after the episode ends. I'm interested to hear any of your other recs if Frieren is your fav! This genre/style of storytelling just absorbs me ✨

I LOVE how you worded this and that you can also feel that connection to Frieren. 💛I spoke with some other ppl in the chat, I'm glad you also enjoy the commentary! I have a lot of thoughts and reactions usually lol so I'm glad it was still balanced/didn't interrupt the show for you all. I'm so glad you're here!!

Loved your reaction! I really like how you seem to think about the themes while watching, and also how you rewind some parts. I do that a lot too, though prob for different reasons (things hit harder when I rewatch it). But just wanted to say I really like your on-the-go analysis, it reflect how many of us go through this show.

One thing a good anime can do better than - at least for me - any other form of entertainment, is evoke emotion, and when you least expect it. I know a bunch of grown men who have started choking up / got tears in their eyes, and even a couple friends and a cousin who admit to having cried to some. Including some of the very popular ones that they were really into, like Naruto. I totally get it too. It's why I love anime as form of entertainment / art. It's kind of wonderful when all the different factors align - they can have a lot of impact - and the love the author pours into their creation is often plain to see.

Yeah, she's not very expressive, but that makes her actual reactions a lot more important. That's one thing I picked up on immediately - she wasn't just some stereotypical "stoic character" - she's actually incredibly lovable. Frieren is well written, well conceived character, one of the best imo. Several others in this are pretty high up the ladder too.

You started to cry even before Himmel’s death hahaha !!!

I really appreciate this comment! It means so much 💛 It's honestly been so hard for me not to go down like deep reddit rabbitholes and figure out all the ins and outs of the show. I'm trying to truly give my genuine/raw reaction, so I'm so happy you all see that and relate to how I react in real-time! Whenever I do edit/rewatch back tho I do see SO many things where I'm like omg I didn't even SEE or connect that the first watch

My brother is actually the one who loves anime/has been telling me for years to get into it. He gave me the idea for the reaction channel too. But he's shared such similar sentiments with me like you said about just how much anime has impacted him throughout his life and allowed him to work out/gain such a deeper understanding about himself and life. From this very first ep of Frieren I felt exactly what you described, just how much is put into all aspects of the creation of an anime -- the animation and design, the soundtracks, the storytelling and minute details in the characters, the themes and symbolism, everything that builds to create such an awe-striking experience that stays with you in so many ways 💛🌱

Stooppppp I knowww 😭 Well one thing you can always count on is I WILL react strongly lol. My entire life actually ppl have told me they can see how strongly I feel and my facial expressions/reactions are just so lively/over the top/funny (I'm not a great liar for that reason lmao), so I'm happy that you all appreciate how I emote intensely in my reactions even with the little things. 💛

Its cool to see a different approach of getting into anime. Mostly seems to be Ghibli as the gateway to the art-form. However, Frieren is such a powerful show to start with, wow! Tissues will be a must, and forgive us emotional vampires who enjoy seeing your reactions for the show. <3 This show itself has been transformative to many people, from others expressing new ways of trying to live their lives focussing on the little things and being present in the moment. To others who have protected lives (Taiwan train knife incident) where the hero of that story uttered "It's what Himmel the hero would do." May this show bring you peace.
