10:30 "Oh, so they know he's a demon" Girl, they got horns growin out they head

HalcyonSerenade

"Fun" fact: there is a spider that imitates what it looks like for an ant to be injured and struggling. When other ants see it and go to help, it pounces and eats them. Imagine something like that targeting humans... it mimics the sound of someone sobbing in pain and/or crying out for help and looks like someone writhing in pain froma broken limb, or something... but when you get close enough its "broken" limbs peel pack into mutli-jointed legs that snatch you and its "face" opens up into jaws 😱☠️ ... um, anyway, demons in Frieren

Best writing you'll ever find in anime

Matthias

- I'm strong - Stronger than me ? - Stronger than your boss's boss

Flamme was human and she lived 1000 years ago, so the elf Frieren saw 400 years ago was not Flamme

Vincent

Got a reaction pic The opening bit about flamme being real is why frieren corrected the woman who talked about how heroic Himmel was. She doesnt want the people most important to her to become fairy tales completely separated from their original nature.

Jonathan

The gas starts to pick up now. :)

Flamme was Human

Saw that the youtube channel was updated and came right on over. What a lovely way to wind down after work.

EHelström

I'm glad you are enjoying Frieren. Are you open to other recommendations for when you have time other shows?

aloekayeANIME

LMAO no you're so right 😭😂 Tbh I think it's still tricky for me at times to identify in fantasy world what's a 'good' vs. 'evil' looking creature lol. I'm learning ep by ep... hopefully

aloekayeANIME

INSANELY GOOD. I love her so much, she's so badass in the most stoic way. 🩵💫🤍

aloekayeANIME

You're so right, how terrifying.. such a good analogy. Tbh when I first learned in frieren about the mimicry/illusion spells alone that phantoms/demons, that hit a nerve in me. I don't know how anyone would react in that situation... And then add in highly intelligent demons, new level. This ep was really eye-opening in a terrifying way.

aloekayeANIME

Hi! Yes absolutely love all recs 🙌💛 I'm compiling a list from comments (YT, PT) and personal life (aka my brother who's a huge anime fan has some ideas lol). But once we near that point, I'll do a poll of some of the top animes I've seen for my patreon posse to vote on for me to react to next! It makes sense in my head for you guys to get exclusive input and voting to my next series I think that'll be so fun.

EHelström

Cool. I look forward to the poll. In the meantime, I'm going to toss out Apothecary Diares for my recommendation. It originally aired at the same time as Frieren. Frieren dominated the conversation, but honestly Apothecary Diaries is no slouch either.

VeggyZ

HAHA, that "...what are we doing?" part kills me. I suppose that would be a newcomer's reaction..!

VeggyZ

Hey, as your third anime, I have to recommend "That Time I was Reincarnated as a Slime" - it's cute in a similar way to this, but the synergy between characters and the events that happen are pretty wild, and it usually leaves you "Feeling good" unless some jerk makes you angry right before the end of an episode. From your reaction so far, I imagine you would love it. It's got a lot of that "very different people" vibes, between a ton of different people, but it works so well.

Lili

as a tensura fan i would say a big no to this, there is far better shows to recommend a newbie

Lili

this is a big no for a newbie to watch id say, ep 14 reaction has my comment with better shows

Yuno Pain

8:42, Himmel translates to heaven in german 😭
