I would estimate the protest you saw had 400-500 people? Assuming it was on Monday. Police presence was very limited aside from the helicopter(actually that's normal, but it was flying oddly low). I assume they are all in the convention center. Way more cops for the much smaller gatherings on the colleges. I think the protest organizers are facing increased threat of prosecution for all the times stuff happened that was not technically permitted, however minor. The one on Monday definitely followed all the rules.

I watched 3 hours of the DNC and slipped into a fugue state. I was summoned back to reality by a non joke offered by David Axelrod. Iheard a tortured voice screaming the word MUSTACHE!!!! Zoomer opinion on Kamala’s new youth appeal. A lot of younger progressives and especially gay (about 26% of gen Z) progressives have an almost subconscious feeling of safety with the Democrats. All of this is just what I see but Obama for me growing up manifested as sort of the dad of the United States. For a lot of downwardly mobile zoomers maybe felt the election of Trump and Obama taking off as a trauma inflicted on them by Republicans, rather than political actors acting as their encouraged to under capital.
