Been hoping you guys would take on immigration for real sometime (I work in biz immigration, not a lawyer, not in government!!!!). I think Khalil’s “crime” will be argued as giving material support to an FTO which is a question on immigration documents. Lying on documents can lead to removal, but they never put Khalil in removal proceedings. I don’t see their path forward given that they skipped so many steps; that’s probably why they need to deny him his lawyer so badly. Most importantly: I have hard time seeing how his university didn’t aid ICE in finding him. Purely speculating, but universities call ICE on students quite often. Immigration stuff is complicated and the general public mostly knows the GOP talking points. Definitely suggest learning more about it because people need to be able to make the GOP irrelevant on this

Glad to hear it’s been better :) Not sure what your specific issue is but there is a subfield of airway/tmj focused dentistry that has emerged in the last 15-20 years that includes (what appear to me, a non-doctor and non-dentist) well-scientifically-supported/non-quack treatment modalities that are not well known outside of that specialty area. On Venezuela accepting deportation flights: The Venezuelan government began accepting flights this February after Ric Grenell went to Caracas on an official visit and met with Maduro (first official visit by a US envoy in over a decade) . Prior to that they had long refused to accept deportation flights. They’ve since sent planes from Conviasa, their state airline, to the US to pick up Venezuelan deportees. They’ve also accepted deportation flights of Venezuelan citizens on other airlines that left the US and stopped in other LatAm countries on their way to Venezuela. There was a brief pause after Trump admin said they would revoke Chevron’s licence to operate in Venezuela (TBD if that ends up happening in April). Grenell said last week they would re-start. Basically: There is a fight within the administration between Grenell (and orcs like Miller who just care about deportations) and Rubio/Claver-Carone, the latter being old school maximum pressure ghouls. Rubio/Claver-Carone et al are actively trying to sabotage deportation flights between the US and Venezuela and have them sent to El Salvador instead (among other countries), then threatening more sanctions on Venezuela for “not accepting flights” that they’ve already agreed to accept. So they are happy to send people (including at least one guy who fled Maduro’s government after being arrested/tortured) to a prison camp in El Salvador with no due process purely to sabotage direct communications between US-Venezuela and try to force max pressure again. Really disgusting.

Nah. It's literally just money. When you say American Empire, what are you talking about? What empire? Who rules the empire? It's not congress. re: campus shit these days. im a grad student at one of the two (i think) ohio universities that were listed on the DoE's list of universities they're investigating for "antisemitic activities". this is occurring right as the state is in the process of passing a bill that will, among many other things, strip faculty unions of their right to strike and allow for administrators to put any faculty under automatic tenure review if they're teaching any unspecified "controversial topics". things are real fuckin grim. i'm really worried for a lot of people, including some very public facing on-campus organizers who are very vulnerable to this sort of action. the university already has it out for them: when our sjp chapter got super active after october 7th, the university started enforcing really strict protest rules that aren't listed explicitly in the code of conduct and have been hitting them with conduct violations regularly ever since. they wouldn't shed a tear over any of these students getting illegally detained/deported, if anything they've been preparing a paper trail to "justify" this kind of action.

To answer the question of the daylight between the Atlantic and Trump's people, there hasn't been any for 5+ years, probably longer.
