A few years ago I did a residency on a Benedictine monastery upstate outside of Elmira (Mt Saviour monastery). Many Benedictines serve god through service to the land. I watched 80 year old brothers bail hay, till fields, tend orchards gardens and apiaries. You can stay in their guest housing for cheap at anytime and live the monk life — it really changed me, highly recommend @ Brace !!

Okay hear me out on the eggs: Different brands/sources of eggs do crack differently. I actually don't doubt that some people really are experiencing "eggs cracking differently." But there is a totally mundane reason why. The general health of the chicken affects the strength of the eggshell. A chicken's body forms the shell out of calcium and other minerals, and they need good nutrition and minimal physical stress to produce optimal eggs. Because of the higher price of eggs, I'm sure that many of people are reaching for cheaper brands of eggs. Those eggs are cheaper because their hens are raised in the least humane conditions possible. The shells are indeed noticeably more brittle than much more expensive free range local eggs.
