A guy from my town, Ed Doogan was on the flotilla, on the US Veterans of conscious boat. The first week of September I walked into our Congresswoman's office, Rep. Madeleine Dean D-PA, which happens to also be in the same town, we're all neighbors. I demanded the staff sit down ASAP to discuss what she can do for him diplomatically. They agreed and we met on September 9th, there were 12 of us there and we asked that she co-sponsor the Block the Bombs act and she did within hours. Ed had to come home because he is older and not in great health. This has effects here at home, it's really a great direct action on multiple levels. Personally I think you are all brave as hell. Thank you David and all members of the Global Sumud Flotilla.

Yeah, it is really notable that the crowd was so big. This part is really difficult to get to. Think like Malibu for LA or Pacifica for San Francisco. It takes some effort. It is not the main port, which would be a lot easier for city-dwellers to get to.
