Re Brace on Starbucks union and NLRB fines—the situation is even worse than that: there are no fines (statutory penalties) for unfair labor practices, only compensatory relief (back pay to fired organizers, reinstatement, Re-running elections). Yea unfortunately attorneys getting pulled off cases or imprisoned is not unusual. Typically they don't even allow them to get that far. Otherwise it's the Dilma(Dulma? Delma?) thing where they accuse them of some kind of corruption and fire them/force resignation. Attorney general, review board, prime minister, doesn't matter. The only people allowed near power are those who would never truly question or use it. It is a boys club. Put your matching slippers on and keep your mouth shut. The obscene rituals to power insure allegiance and bar the righteous. I can only imagine how charismatic Denise must be to get into that position at all.
