Such a hype episode. Few anime have true jaw dropping moments, but I felt just like Patry here, like what the hell is going on! I highly recommend checking out the devils speech in the dub, when he casts his spells. If you think he's creepy now, the dub manages to make it so much better.

The sub has a lot of frustrating mistranslations but the worst one is 'demon' they aren't demons they are devils. This distinction matters because when elves or humans are possessed by devils they are demons. One of the OP songs refers to them as devils.

Thats good to hear! The distinction does matter in this show, so mistranslation can get annoying lol. The japanese dub has been clear about it from the start, using Akuma for Devils, and Majin for Demons

I forget how wrong the English subtitles are for Black Clover. They keep using demon when it should be devil. The guy who popped up this episode is a devil, not a demon.

Yup I've brought that up in a lot of my past reactions and so has the show. AKA master lol (although poor patry has been sorely wrong and misguided and used. what while reveals!!)

The same with commoners and peasants, commoners have low mana but peasants have even lower (compare luck the commoner to magna the peasant). The translation often times translates “gemin” to commoners but it means peasant (mana: royals>nobles>commoner>peasants)
