The fact this ended up getting so delayed as actually pretty spot on with how it felt for OG watches of Code Geass. So I suppose this is pretty on-brand. XD Edit - But yes this entire first episode is made to have you question everything, back in the day everyone was going online to make sure they weren't watching a spin-off series. lol

"I'm so fucking confused" Ah yes, the classic S2 EP1 experience. XD I remember watching this season while it aired when I was 17 and being very "????" after waiting so long for it haha. Especially with the "brother," the "Who ARE you?" reaction is exactly how it felt all those years ago. And yes the art for the ending is amazing! It's also by CLAMP, the manga team who did the character designs for the series. Can't wait to see what you think of this season, more than worth the wait. <3

It's been such a long time since I watched CG that I have no memory of anything in S2. It's like I'm watching it for the first time with you, lol. Some thoughts after watching the episode: - Lelouch's memory: It seems more like deliberate memory alteration than just standard memory loss. Otherwise, I'd assume you'd see him think about Nunnally at least once, for example. - The environment: Besides what's going on with Lelouch himself, what makes this episode jarring is the weird anomalies in his environment. Shirley seems to have been "reset" to how she acted in early S1 and Villetta suddenly being a teacher is bizarre. Not to mention how the latter is acting completely out of character as well (Why would she act so chummy with the guy she suspected of being Zero previously?). Is she there to monitor Lelouch as an undercover plant who is in on the truth or has her memory also been tampered with? As for Rolo, I assume he is a plant, because why else would he pose as Lelouch's younger brother? (Unless the term big brother is merely being used as an honorific here). - Nunnally: I hope she is safe. Based on how S1 ended, I'm assuming the Empire has taken her into their possession.
