Hi everybody.

Happy Friday! I hope you’re feeling well and had a great week.

This week’s report will be brief, since I didn’t do much work myself. Given that I’m done with most of my tasks, I spent a lot more time doing household chores and taking care of the kids this week, so that Chestnut could work as many hours as possible. She’s been trying to wrap up a few cutscenes that require some major changes and reworks (plus a few extra things I added during my polish). I've taken some notes and listed a few more visual changes: for example, a chicken will have a role in the plot, and Chestnut has already done her sprite, of course, but I’m not really convinced by it, so I’ve asked if she can redo it and hide her eyes the same way our sheep’s eyes are covered. If she has the time, she’ll do it. Anyway, she’s been very busy.

(Edit: for the curious, this is how the chicken looks like:

...she's cute, but I think she'll work better if she get her eyes covered with either her comb or some fringe-looking feathers. Maybe Chestnut never has the time for it, or maybe she does a different version and it doesn't work and we revert back to this. Either way, we'll see.)

I should add that this doesn’t mean that my job’s over. No, I still have one major dialogue sequence I want to rewrite, and I want to do more rounds of testing, but I think I can manage those after I have added the new and changed art, since sometimes having the visuals in place helps with the writing and gives a better sense of the scene.

Next week, we plan to do more of the same: Chestnut working on the art, while I free up as many undisturbed work hours for her as I can.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Cheers!

Okay hang on because I think you might be on to something there. You mentioned covering the chicken's eyes with its comb. .... What if the chicken bore a passing resemblance to Jessica Rabbit? Still legally distinct, mind. We don't want a certain rodent coming after all our hides....

Not the anthropomorphic character I was alluding to

I reckon if the eyes were less anthropomorphic then it would have more of a genuine quirky look. Let's be honest, you don't look at a hen and think "cute," you think deranged seed pecker.
