I got so exited thinking it was ATLA for a sec lol. Avatar (2009) isnt bad either!

PepsiMan

Aang looking a bit different

Jason Fein

This is the wrong avatar

Povenmire

I adore this movie.

Braxen

Rewatched it the other day. Better than I remembered it with the overhyping

JazzKane

I love this movie so much. You’re absolutely right about the story being derivative but I’ve always found it to be a shame how so many people couldn’t see all of the other merits the movie brings

Dawson

Sad that Predator wasn't mentioned in the intro... 😭

When they show the pod for entering the avatar away from the compound after they said no ones ever left the compound, the entire plot is obvious. They'll need to enter from away from the compound so they'll probably switch sides and I wonder who the bad guy would be then? Military scarface? Also the effects are great in the first half of the movie but then they just reuse models endlessly for the war scenes making it apparent they only modelled like 5 creatures.

I was gutted when James Horner passed away. His musical score for Avatar is so beautiful, and I wish I could have heard what he might have done for the sequel.

Watched this in IMAX 3D. Except I came late and there was no one at the booth to give me 3D glasses. That was an experience all right.

You do remember what year this came out in right? This was mind blowing when it came out. And I just saw it in IMAX again last month and it still holds up.

Basically every story is derivative of another. I don't get why people complain about that. If they want to use that argument then they need to complain about some of the greatest movies ever.

But I love this movie too. I hadn't seen it in years and just saw it again in IMAX. I felt like a kid again from when my parents took me. It was awesome.

The graphics in the first half are about the only thing that escapes scrutiny. And my complaint doesn't have to do with when it came out; it's a seriously weak plot point.

Steven Tarsitano

this is not quite the Avatar content i was hoping for today

Jacob Wojciechowski

Laz Alonso who plays Tsu’tey the one who sacrificed himself towards the end who did not like Jake Sully also played MM (Mother’s Milk) in The Boys.

Kian Chamine

A cool detail to also notice is that the Na'vi only have 4 fingers on each hand, but the avatars (like Jake) have 5, since they are controlled by humans whose brains are capable and used to controlling 5 fingers :)
