I've mentioned over the years quite a few times that I've been trying to write a post-apocalyptic novel - and I've had different visions of what that looks like.

Earlier this year I got a new idea that worked with the theme, and even though I haven't put the other ideas fully aside, this one really bloomed. A new part of this patreon will be sharing the process with you all, including draft chapters and details, and hopefully even more. I used to write characters, storylines, and do some world building back in the Mu* days of the internet, and I really leaned on this to bring this world to life. I've got a rich world and system built, at least I think I do, and I'm excited to move forward.

Here's what I've got so far.

It's a trilogy as outlined, but could be more. The book has a name as does the series but I'm not quite ready to share that yet - hence the blanked out book cover (a rough Canva mock up just to give me something to look at and add more to for a future artist to make something real out of)

A history of the current world, post total breakdown of social services in our current time - it's set approximately 300 years in the future

It's a fantasty romance with political and emotional hooks that I'm excited to explore

Magic is a part of the world, hopefully made with logic and realism

I want it this world to feel familiar but foreign, these characters to be relatable and inspiring, transparent in their struggles and in their triumphs. I'm not looking to do anything outside of putting a book out there, written and edited by me. And while I'll submit it to publishers I'm sure, my goal isn't that. It's having a work that I'm proud of, available for anyone who might want to partake in a new story that touches something in me emotionally. I've been missing that and it's nice to have it back. More details to come - we'll talk how I set up the world building, how I'm writing this, and what my progress is and more. If you have questions in the meantime, I'm excited to answer them! Thanks for being here, I'm glad to have you to share all of this with! Love and Cookies,

Misty
