When you catch ConCrud bad, you're down hard. I spent the first part of the week fighting it, woke up Saturday, did a 5k (which was super cool) and then immediately slept for 3 days. I'm feeling better today, almost human and back to work. I honestly think it was more sinus infection than infectious but here we are :P DragonCon has been over for a week now, and it feels like a month. Getting in on Tuesday makes the week crawl - it felt so slow to come, but then Saturday felt like it rushed in and suddenly we were on a flight home. Such is the way of it, I suppose 👻My first DC was 2002, so this made my 24th year going, of which I've made it there 16 times (17 if you count virtual, which I do :P) . It's changed so much, and while sometimes it's an event that needs some upgrades, it's amazing and feels like home. Tuesday was our anniversary, and we went out to dinner with friends to Trader Vics and celebrated with them, and spent some amazing time with great people. Wednesday was more great people, and we went to see our friend's favorite sculptor at the Botanical gardens - a rare outside the bubble visit during DC for us.

From there it's a blur of cosplay, parades, and fun. Lots of people watching, good times with great people, and a Sunday brunch that I'll never miss, regardless of what else is going on <3 I've known some of these people more than half my life, and it's always food for the soul to get to see them once again. If you don't go to DragonCon, but want to - always happy to give my .02 cents about what it could be for you <3
