BACKSTAGE VLOG #1 - MEMORIA with SERENITY (Patreon)

Hello me Hearties!

One week ago I was performing 2 songs on the MEMORIA shows with SERENITY in Kufstein, Austria.

I decided on the go to film some footage, on the way and backstage, and to put it together for you to see this event from the inside a bit! This gave me the idea of creating a nice "Backstage Vlog" format I could create for all events when the time allows. Would you like this? 🤩

We all had a very good time during this week-end! Playing only with real instruments, like I did when performing with TARJA, is really nice and creates a totally different atmosphere! I love to perform our acoustic set with VOA during our Meet&Greets and I would love to create a bigger format of acoustic / organic concerts in the future!

Meek was also performing one song with them, "Souls & Sins" and apparently, people loved how their voices blended together so much that they requested more duets from them! 

So Meek and I drove from Udine on the 27th, arrived in the afternoon after a nice stop on the way, at the Umami bistro in Flachau which was good and refreshing! I could find vegan options  which is not the easiest in Austrian countryside!

Arriving in Kufstein we put our belongings backstage and then rehearsed our songs with the band on stage. I love the decor they created. Simple but really nice, creating a unique and solemn atmosphere. It was great to meet up with my former band mates again, 5 years after our last show together at Masters Of Rock.

I met with Sascha Paeth, famous for his amazing work with a lot of the top acts of our genre AVANTASIA, KAMELOT, EPICA... and he's a super nice man! We had great chats over breakfasts and even sent greetings to Adrienne, since they know each other very well! What a small world haha!

The first show went fine even though the band faced some internal technical issues which weren't visible on the outside but altered their appreciation of the moment. Thankfully they could get fixed for the next day! It was really great to have 2 shows, the first one in new conditions or testing new gear or having new guests is rarely the best, everyone needs to get their mark and feel more comfortable.

On the next day we were invited for tea at Georg's mum place with Meek, Marco and we helped the SERENITY team put labels on the bottles of grappa / schnapps that Georg's family make themselves. It was fun!
Then we went to town, had lunch there and headed to the venue for the second show.

This second one for me was even more enjoyable due to feeling more comfortable, knowing how it would all be like! The response from the crowd was amazing, and we spent quite some time talking to people after the show!

But the tiredness of it all fell on me quite fast and even though some people felt like having an after party, I really needed to catch some sleep.

I, indeed, haven't yet recovered from the massive US tour, followed quickly by the headlining European leg in May and I've been feeling in need of calm days without doing much. I am still there, it's getting better and I'm happy I totally felt like putting this together for you these days!
