This is a particular period of time at the moment. VoA is taking a short break from traveling the world to focus on the creative part.

Right now we are working on the orchestrations and real instruments that we want to bring to some of the new songs.

Then we will have the new album mixed and mastered.

In the meantime we’re starting the creative process around the cover artwork and pictures. We’re received the raw pics and have to select our solo shots and the band shots in order to get the best composition and visual impact. We’ve been looking forward a lot to working with this photographer so I can’t wait for the result!

We’re also continuing to prepare the upcoming video shoots! One video is shot, I have 2 more scripts to write! The next video shoots will take place in March.

While doing all this necessary work, in the shadows, here are pictures by Alen Vouk taken while preparing for the show in Lindau (DE).

As you can imagine, it’s pretty dangerous to manipulate make up in cream/white clothes, accidents are so common! And it didn’t miss ^^ I was happy to wear this new sweater and wanted to take it on the road because it’s comfy and warm… But Dushi left his pencil full of black eye shadow hanging by the mirror and with a wrong move it ended up right in the middle of my chest!! Thankfully I could have it cleaned and restored as if nothing happened but this was a heart-pinching reminder that I can’t take my favorite clothes on the road (unless black…).

That’s a frustrating part about tour life: you need to take ALL your standards down. Hygiene, space, noise, comfort, food, time, air, access to light… and bring them by like 70% down. Some days it’s easy to adapt, I’m also quite used to it, but on other days it can become heavy and more energy demanding.

That’s why I’m now enjoying this time at home where I can finally take care of my place, my things and reconnect to a more down to earth way of living :)

I wouldn’t want to live only like this, as much as I wouldn’t want to be always on tour. It’s about balance and I think I’m happy with the one I’ve found so far!

Looking forward to see you on Sunday!

With love,
Clementine

Love the insights, Clem! Amazing to think of everything that goes into creating the VOA music we all love. From creating the music, lyrics, video scripts—even being creative in finding ways to adjust standards while on the road—you truly are all very gifted to be able to balance all that and (of course…) we cannot wait for what’s next! 🤘😊🏴‍☠️✨

BlackMoonREALEX (Alex)

I remember my days of being in a thrash metal band; we would drive around everywhere, sometimes really far, for a 30-minute set show most of the time. It can be exhausting, while still trying to come up with new songs in the meantime. Yet, I don’t regret it. While I don’t know what it’s like to be on a tour bus, I can relate to the demanding energy and sacrifices you have to make. I’m glad you have your time of tranquility Clementine. I respect your ambition, always. Keep moving forward.
