Hello me Hearties!
Before we move on to the VOA madness, here are some behind the scenes material we shot during the video shoot for “Désenchantée”!
We shot this video in what was an old theater with a very genuine vibe. Wooden floors and massive doors, ancient furniture like you can see on the pic with the black piano! So beautiful!
We also shot outside like we spoke about it during the last hang out! If you missed it, you can watch the video in the post below! You can see we had a crowd watching the performance. It was a bit intimidating and I had to push my shyness aside. Adrenaline was helpful, as well as overcoming overthinking. And it was actually liberating.
I’ve never been too self conscious when it comes to performing, even on stage. I don’t have my mind wondering about how I’m perceived, if my moves look good or else. On the moment I’ve learnt to lose control and embrace pure creation. I literally enter the zone, become one with my own energy, putting my thoughts to sleep. Which makes me lose track of time and it’s very hard to actually remember the show itself afterwards. Like I’ve been on an other level of awareness 😅 and it’s very hard for me to have a normal conversation right when I get off stage. The return to reality would be too brutal. I need some time to let adrenaline off my body and return to a normal state of being! A shower totally helps and that’s one of the first things I do right after a show!
Afterwards when I watch videos from shows I see what works and what doesn’t. I also work on moves at home.
To come back to the video, Mirko’s team created a nice corner with many mirrors to film the scenes where I sing to myself. We wanted to portray the loneliness, when it mirrors yourself and you can’t get out of your own mind. Like mirrors reflecting your image, you can’t escape your thoughts.
We enjoyed a very nice home made catering and the shoot went well and fast!
As said during the hang out, the main idea behind the video was to portray how this new generation is also disenchanted in 2024. This generation that creates more connections online than in real life. Who’s not capable of being in a group of people while not being on their phones at the same time. This ultra connected generation that shows signs of deeper loneliness and depression… the devices that were supposed to help and increase communication somehow managed to make us feel like online life is more valuable than the real one. It’s a real danger to our modern society to me.
We need to keep bonding for real by doing things together and being in the moment. These bonds are necessary for a normal psychological and physiological function of our bodies and minds. The power of physical contact… science is loud on this.
It saddens me to hear that younger folks, at the age when it should be the easiest to make new fiends, are feeling lonelier than ever. 😥
I’m so glad social media didn’t exist when I was a teenager…
The video wanted to show how fake happiness can be online, how lonely and sad people who seem happy on socials can acufally be in real life. It’s a reminder to not take for granted what we see online. People choose what they want to post, it’s not possible to judge someone’s life, success, happiness, mental health…from online posts. I mean. The level of narcissism in some posts can already tell a lot 😅
We’re about to arrive at the venue in Lucerne! Can’t wait for the first show of the year 🔥🏴☠️
Thanks for reading!
With love,
Clementine
