How are you surprised, it was poorly scripted and super rushed🤷‍♂️

Yeahhhhhhh some episodes just weren’t it. This one just feels really weird. Wish I liked it more.

This is directly from the original two creators of the series (Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino)... DiMartino mentions that he realized he "couldn't control the creative direction of the series," but that he could control how he responded. "So, I chose to leave the project," he continued. "It was the hardest professional decision I’ve ever had to make, and certainly not one that I took lightly, but it was necessary for my happiness and creative integrity. And who knows? Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Avatar has the potential to be good. It might turn out to be a show many of you end up enjoying. But what I can be certain about is that whatever version ends up on-screen, it will not be what Bryan and I had envisioned or intended to make."

I think I'm ok with some of Bumi's characterization, but that's because I think they're laying some groundwork of what we'd see in Book 3 in the animated show. Not ok with him going at a KID the way he did to teach a lesson the way he did.

same. for me the cave was better here in the live action i didn't like how it went in the animated version. the build up for that episode didn't hit for me. this made so much more sense. a lot of people misinterpret the tale of two lovers and the hint for the cave as the same thing when their not. they wrote it perfectly imo.
