BDay Pop up Card (Patreon)
Content
One of my besties (20years now) had birthday yesterday and I wanted to gift her an artsy day... therefor I wanted to make her a lil card, which escalated quickly.
My boyfriend made some pop up christmas cards with his class and I got inspired, hyper fixated and worked all night and day (14h through), yeah, no sleep for me, thx brain and I wanna share the results.
Never did a pop up card before, but it was fun to tinker around and try out techniques to make things... well pop.
first I made a dummy and see how things work.
Then I made some designs in CSP, printed them and painted them traditionally.
I screwed up the Background... Slaped on some color, but it got all muddy and concrete-ish, so I made it again and kept it white.
of course I forgot to record the process properly, but I remembered to take some fotos when I was almost done... Cutted all the designs with an exactor knife btw...
I even went the extra mile to make her arm moveable and designed the handle as a thought bubble with her doggo in it, which she is also drawing.
And of course I forgot to take some beauty shots from the finished design, so I took a snapshot on her bithday table, with the fully assambled piece.
Oh! Myself is painting Glas and admiring his perfect physic hahaha
I am glad I could finish it last minute, was to afraid to screw up on the last step, so no background design ...
But she liked it and I liked to do something with my hands.
Sorry it's nothing sexed up, but I thought you might like to see this approach as well and maybe I could inspire you to try it out for yourself and gift something personal to your loved ones...
Of course I watched some YouTube tutorials in advance, which gave me some idea how things work, so I recommend you do the same. (if you fancy)
Had a great birthday gathering, eventhough I was very tired hahaha
I am feeling full of love and huggles each one of you peeps. Love you and wishing you happy holidays in advance.
On sunday I will have another crafty day with friends to make another gift.
Looking forward to show you the results as well (or the failure if I mess up)
Smootches ya'll
from Ani, Glas and Silber, with love
