SEPTEMBER POSTCARD ♡ // Chaotic flora~ (Patreon)

Hello everyone! ♡✧( ु•⌄• )

Happy hump day (aka Wednesday) hope your week is going well so far! I'm really excited to share September's postcard with you. It's something different and a bit out of my comfort zone, but I'm happy with the result. To the new patrons (hello and welcome!) I do an original piece every month for my $10 patrons. If you're interested in a limited edition postcard print of this piece make sure to change your pledge to $10 before the end of September! ^^

I had a strong and clear image in my head of what I wanted this piece to look like. I knew I wanted to continue the theme of plants, which I've taken a great interest in recently, and saw an explosion of foliage paired with strong and rich colors. The color palette isn't one I'm used to but including deep greens and bright oranges just felt right for this piece and I wanted to stick with it. And since this piece is for September I thought it important to capture more muted and warm colors that typically signify a transition into autumn.

I've also come to realize that I love drawing and painting plants. If I could paint plants for the rest of my life I think I'd be content. In a way I admire them, I really do. I think their beauty is a result of their perseverance and survival through adversity and that makes me feel strong.

Also I've included a process gif of this piece! This is the first postcard I've ever done that started out traditionally. I do think it affected how the final piece turned out. I think I'll do a traditional start with the next postcard as well. :)

Hope you like this piece and thank you so much for your support! I'm truly grateful for the opportunities your kindness has provided. Also, if you're interested in the enamel pins I designed with your support you can check them out in my store vickisigh.tictail.com!

Thank you so much for joining me for a moment today and I hope the rest of your day is wonderful! Much love~ (/^▽^)/
